Your father Ron Finegold seems like quite the inspiration, his peak reminds me of how chess was unique in the 1960s, the only time NM Bernard Parham (a local notable figure) won a state championship.

The internets tells me that air conditioning was first put into cars in the early 40s. In the 60s (not sure when in the 60s), about 20% of cars had air conditioning, but 80% of cars in the southwest had air-conditioning. The first time air-conditioning was not an extra charge, but was standard, was in a certain model in 1968.

My dad taught me chess too. Not to this standard, of course, but I remember getting my first chess board and pieces one Christmas. Then the following year he bought me a chess engine machine, so I had a "strong" opponent to play against (as long as it didn't crash when you were entering a move, which was frustrating on higher settings as it took hours per move). Good times. My dad passed away over 20 years ago now, and I still miss him every day Ben. That's just proof to me you are a nice person. Keep on doing you, my dude.

There are a lot of places where A/C still isn't really needed. I used to live in New England, and mostly survived on a diet of box fans and window units not turned on until July. We think of it as normal, but it's really energy-hungry. Don't turn it on if you don't need it, folks!

Interesting facts: this GW church is actually GW church Jr, his father started church's chicken and passed away in 1956. Bill, or GW Jr, started operations around 1962. So it's possible this is one of if not his first public efforts to advertise his business after his father passed.
