chinese cartoons joke aside, anime is made for all ages. Some anime are made for teenagers, some for children and some like this anime is made more for adults and young adults to enjoy. The story and the setting is not much different from those dramas and action movies that casts real actors/actress, the difference is, this is made with animation. Personally, I prefer animation more as the directors and writers can convey their feelings through the hyperbolic action and expression of the character in animations which is impossible to do and would be extremely cringy if they were to use real people as real cast.

It does hit harder than your typical tragic and epic love story, because a lot of people (thankfully) can´t relate to those romances of loss and death. But this one can appeal to everyone. Every one of us loved someone at one point, and if it is when you´re young, likely it won´t end with a happily ever after. Even if it were one sided and your love wasn´t reciprocated, eventually you´ll have to overcome it and forget about that person, splitting paths and telling to yourself "i will love again someday". So beautifull yet so sad

The thing I love about this song for Thomas and Cynthia's relationship is there's no blame here. Cynthia didn't hold all the ill will against Thomas all those years, she held it against the man who corrupted his artistic vision. Was Thomas in the wrong for choosing money over Cynthia and his dream? I'd argue, yes. But when they both finally got closure after the arc, they split it up amicably, and neither held it against the other. And the song mirrors where Cynthia's mind is here - she can move on completely, with no grudges to hold her back anymore.

I think at the very least, they blamed themselves for the person they've become over the years. Both Cynthia and Thomas compromised with their respective beliefs and thus, couldn't face each other for a long time. Cynthia could have paid off Thomas' debt but she knew that the same money got from fraud is what got Thomas off the rails. In the end, they parted ways since they're already different people since then. Only those small mannerisms like Thomas not looking her in the eye remained.
