It looks like the boat is built mostly for weekend excursions and entertaining 6 or more people. It's a concept outside of my tax bracket but very intriguing lifestyle. It took me awhile to figure out why I didn't understand design choices but once I realized what it was built for I totally get it. Beautiful boat.

One of my favorite Perry designs. Such a well though out boat and built like a tank.

She’s a great boat and the current owner has spent a fortune updating her.

Very nice boat! Is there any other engine access? Can more of the furniture be removed to access it?
@TheCorsair
@TheCorsair 5 жыл бұрын
Actually the engine has great access. There are additional panels on starboard and port side of engine for access.

I like the layout. But the price puts it out of range for me. I'm looking at several models in that size, and plan to make my mind up. I'm leaning toward a great deal I found on a Gulfstar 43.
@TheCorsair
@TheCorsair 4 жыл бұрын
This boat will sell for around $115K. When you think about price it’s best to consider total cost of ownership. Sure, you can get a Gulfstar 43 for less but you’ll probably spend more than $115K making her right.

@@TheCorsair Haha I'm sure!!! I just can't do that at the moment all at once. That's an awesome boat and worth more than that I'm sure!!

I’m interested. But I’m in Ohio. How much to sail it to me? I’m serious. I have cash.

why after 2 years of high quality refit is this boat on the market? Any idea? Just "life happens" stuff? How do the decks look in person? seems like a few bungs missing and such. I guess I should call the broker....

The current owner purchased the boat in late 2016. Spent two years and $275K on her. Set off on a circumnavigation and got as far as Bermuda when life intervened. Sailed the boat back to the Bay and put her up for sale. I’ve seen that same story repeat itself many times. The lesson learned is get the boat and go. As for the teak decks, they need some serious attention or to be replaced. Best solution? Buy the boat. Sail it to Grenada. Have the decks replaced. $25K tops. Same job here on the Bay will run closer to $50k.

@@TheCorsair thanks for the background. I assume the best approach would be remove teak altogether. The LaFittes just do it for me....
@TheCorsair
@TheCorsair 5 жыл бұрын
Ultimately Id remove the teak and go with fiberglass decks. That said, there is no reason to rush to get this done. It’s not like it’s going to make any difference in sailing performance.

@@TheCorsair I assumed "some serious attention" meant wet deck core or the like. Agreed if not leaking then I live with them. Thanks again for responding.
@TheCorsair
@TheCorsair 5 жыл бұрын
Akathe Squid actually I don’t think the core is dramatically affected at this time. There is no sign of deck leaks in the cabin below and the original decks, while rough, are still reasonably thick. Of course, no way to know for sure until you rip off the old decks.
