Hi guys, I'm sure the unit is an S-13 we had 3 at the BCR, pretty the same machinery as an RS-23 other than the trucks. The RS-23 had road trucks, I believe CP had both types.

Nice location! Still some good stuff to be had in the 90s! And I really like Alcos!

Spruce Falls bought the 108 new. CP 8013 was an RS23. CP didn't have S13's as far as I could find.

You are correct. Thanks for pointing that out. I did some research, and updated the post. Thanks for watching...

OMG...A DW&P car. I've not seen one of them i bet in 20 years or more from our deceased paper mill in Red Rock. I think that's an S-13 by the 2 small louvers and 2 long louvers.

It could be a S13 Joe. Not sure. Thanks for watching...
@mybadluckcharm6 ай бұрын
@@1jackdk Yeah, it is an S13. Still working at its original spot at the time of this video, Spruce Falls bought it new in 1968. Delivered in green with yellow striped in the same pattern you see here.

Was the 108 scrapped (the S-13) or the 109 that was scrapped (the RS-23)?
@mybadluckcharm6 ай бұрын
the 109 was *sold* for scrap, though i'm not certain it acually *was* scrapped. I saw a video in the last year that had a switcher coupled to a derelict heavyweight passenger car, on a siding or spur in the distance that looked a *heck* of a lot like the 109, but with really faded orange paint. It was somewhere in southern Ontario, i asked about it in comments, and got no answer.

Never. It's Grandfathered in, so fortunately for us railfans, they can't, & won't do anything about it. Besides, volcanoes pollute a billion times more than this ol girl ever will. Anyhow, that's just mostly carbon coming out of the stack. Nothing to balk about really.

Those *box cars* looked like he should have just pushed them to the scrapper... What a load of Junk!
@mybadluckcharm6 ай бұрын
Why? Because there's some rust? These aren't make out of the same sheet metal as cars. It's just a bit of rust. The sides are fine, the ends aren't bulged, just needs some paint. You don't scrap cars because they need paint.
