Inside can also be very helpful when a player encounters a bank shot where another ball is slightly in the path of the object ball. In that case I slightly over cut the object ball using inside english which causes the object ball to rebound a little shorter to the intended pocket. But I’m sure you already knew about this. That is one more instance that inside can be very useful.

Great added input Joe. 100% accurate. There's only so much to say on a short program like The CLINIC. God Bless you

@@TheDrillInstructor I figured that’s one of the reasons you didn’t include it in this video. The other was probably because it’s a little more of an advanced type of shot. I also want to say thanks on refreshing me on the 5 rail kicks. Much appreciated.

Any shaft has deflection. I would say that an optimus shaft has deflection also.

Yes. He needs to stop saying that. If he wants to say it has low deflection that's fine. But when you start saying it has zero deflection, you just start sounding like scam artist.

As long as your pivot point length is correct. Wood or carbon shaft. 🙂

And it will change with shot speed. Harder shot, more deflection, shorter pivot.

Dominic, it would help me follow you (visual learner) if you added a picture of a cue ball with a contact dot on it somewhere on the screen. 💡

Can you please make a video on how to do and understand reference lines please.

I'm glad to have this information. I swear I read that the English has no influence over the cueball after contact. somebody told me the wrong shit.

And wouldn't that be the same as you changing position while you're already down on the shot, which is what you don't wanna do?

What you are calling Inside English is what I call Running English. When did the terminology change?
@TheDrillInstructor8 ай бұрын
Hi Don. Thanks for your comment. I’m defining insight English specifically because I’m making contact to an object ball. Therefore, inside versus outside is based on the designation of the direction of the cut. In your case referring to running English, you’re talking about an open Cue ball that is working with the reduced friction by having the ball already spinning in the same direction it will come out of the cushion to continue its cue ball track or path. Nothing has changed.

Lining up your your shot as if you will be using center ball and only moving over for english while down on the shot is pretty much against what any instructor will tell you to do. Maybe it works for him and maybe that is what he believes in, but he should at least state that this method of aiming/lining up a shot is not what 98% of instructors would tell someone to do.
