Hey All My mechanic was not willing to order the new motor as he said there were several different part numbers? Some will not fit? I have ordered the switch to see of this solves the issue of 4x4 not engaging, but will look at the Transfer Switch Motor after that. Thanks for Video Michael. Subbed👍

Front diff actuator also failed on mine its just a small dc motor behind a black cover left hand side,moisture eventually gets in can replace the dc.motor and lubricate,

@@michaelkieran3006 si, la caja de cambios no tiene ningún problema. Solo q tiene encendido la alarma del abs en el tablero , y creo yo , q al tener prendida esa alerta este afectando la 4x4 . Nose si estoy en lo correcto

I don't think it will affect it ,just check both actuators ignition on engine off listening for actuator working

Unrelated question.. Can you tell me if there’s a fuel pump access panel and if so where. Same model car

Has the fuel pump stopped working ?? I had symptoms of bad fuel pump no start no sound of pump ..but it was a broken wire under the drivers seat,I replaced the fuel pump to no avail before I found broken wires ,the access is on top of the fuel tank, need to undo a few fuel lines and plugs remove fuel tank access is a threaded cap on topside of fuel tank.

Thanks for sharing! I'm going to have to try this. I've got a flashing 4wd light on my x240 which doesn't go away - it will click into 4H but when I select 4L absolutely nothing. I just swapped the transfer case actuator - but that didn't solve it so maybe I'll try swapping this one.

Also if its going into low range and 4wd light is still flashing test if front diff is actually ingaged by turning in a circle full lock rear wheels should draging a little,if its not the problem lies in the front diff actuator, check fuse on drivers side in cab check wires replace front diff actuator 1 plug and some bolts

Hiya Michael I have the same model/year - except my GW X240 won't disengage from 4wd to 2wd. Did you fit a factory actuator switch or buy aftermarket.?

Hi, i would try swapping the transfer case switch motor it's just a few bolts and a plug , you could get a new one online maybe ebay or an auto wreckers.shop wanted 10x price..... For the problem I had (not selecting 4L) the actuator was the problem i bought it cheap online new , but I think try the motor in your case ,you could try remove the transfer case switch motor then select 2wd if motor is not spinning it's probably the problem , you could do the same test without removing motor and listen for it clicking when selecting 2wd if no clicking sound is heard probably the motor is at fault (engine off ignition on) while selecting :)

@@GLOBAL-INTIFADA yes I also had to change the actuator motor because it wouldn't select 4wd it's 3 bolts and bracket and a plug to take it off, if you just take it off and leave it plugged in you can test it . Turn ignition on and get someone to switch between 2wd 4wd and observe the motor it should be turning if it's not then will need new actuator motor

hello, I have a problem sometimes the car goes wrong as if it went with a cylinder less then when I disconnect and reconnect the battery it is resolved. what could be I think the ecu or infection ?

I've replaced my transfer case motor the motor is working fine you can hear it select 4h an 4l an 2wd but the 4wd light is still staying on I've checked the breather hose still not going away an help greatly

If its selecting high and low but light not going out check the fuse inside cab on driver side labelled 4wd front diff ,if not its the front diff actuator faulty needs to be replaced its similar looking to the one on the transfer,with a plug and bolts

Seems to be common good old stick shift would be better, just try testing the 4wd actuator motor , it's not expensive to replace and easy to fit
