Hmmm, now I'm thinking of doing this but with hemp cording because I have a pair of added on "repair" maidens that require a thin bearing due to the holes in them. 🤔

Just lubricate well. Hemp might fray and wear but give it a try.

@@MarkNowotarski I’d dry them flat first and then dampen lightly with water. If you do try green, be aware they’ll shrink in place as they dry.
