4:21 Ok so pretty standard opening he allows the trades to give you a pawn up. You've seen h3 is weak and want to retreat the bishop to keep it on the board so Bx6 or Bb8 allows Qd6 threatening mate, whereas Bd6 just blocks your queen. Ideally you want queen in front of attack supported by bishop. 5:32 solid defence Rb8 keeps you from losing defence of knight on f6 and opening up king. It allows Ne4 which is a nice outpost for your knight. It is NOT a passive move it defends pawn and puts your rook on same file as his queen. 8:40 Re8 ok really good you have threats and realise that relieving the tension straight away isn't the best idea. By keeping up the tension with you making the threats he has to watch what he does and you can execute your plan, eg: if he thinks to double his rooks with Rd3 you play Nc5 and win the rook for your knight. There are also ideas of lifting the Rook to 6th rank and bringing that to bear on his king later on, as well as looking to double rooks on e file. So you are not only a pawn up by have a solid easy to defend situation you have most of the threats - his bishop eyeing g6 is his main threat. 10:05 ok knight and bishop traded he has a knight that looks out of place and your attack has still got some promise. What next well as you said f4 is probably coming which is easily met by Bf6, Bringing the B rook to the D file to x-ray his queen again has merit to defend against a e4 push, I also wonder if it's time to push h5 then g6 to kick out his knight and threaten to break open his king protection. 13:30 Qg5 just looks very wrong, it allows you to improve your bishop and weakens his pawn on e5 so Qe6 looks most natural threatens his knight and pawn. Nice you saw it. Should be significantly ahead now he will likely reteat knight to d2 to protect pawn but then you have the very natural c5 strengthening your pawn chain and protecting your extremely valuable passed d pawn. I was worried when you were looking to push it earlier when you then couldn't guard it. Time might be deciding factor though 3 mins down. Hmm 16:03 Qb5 offering trade I see why but now your passed d pawn is weak and you have screwed up your pawn structure the more natural move was c5 pushing pawns as you suggested and keeping the d pawn very well defended. If he played b4 you can ignore as he can't trade giving you connected passed pawns on c & d. Silll that didn't happen and we have a weak pawn structure so more difficult to defend end game. at some point you are going to need h6 or g5 to give your king breathing space and avoid back rank tricks. 16:32 ok this is where you are strong. King and pawn endgames you have a wining advantage as long as you don't panic which is tricky with just 50 seconds on the clock. a6 was the wrong theme. Look at this position and notice something. He gave away the "opposition" so your king can move to e4 threatening his kingside pawns by leaving your pawn on a7 he has move steps to take to get to a7 to take it with the pawn on a6 he can take b6 and a6 more easily. However look at your WALL if you play Ke4 - you control c5 with your pawn d3, d4, d5 with your king he cannot move his klng into the attack. In the endgame establishing a wall can be the make or break of the position and how his king can get past. 16:47 this is 100% NOT a drawn position why? Well you have an extra pawn on the queenside so if you can lure his king to defending the kingside pawns you can always push on queenside and win. However your king can get to g3 so you win another pawn and even with best play he cannot defend both kingside pawn down and queenside pawn down. Nice you manage to convert it to a two pawn advantage on the queenside so he did the decent thing and resigned. Note your king is in front of your pawns so you can just push the h pawn and queen and he acannot stop you (assuming a Kg3 followed by Kg2 when he goes Ke3 to keep him out and protect the h pawns queening square).
