Good work done. Please, I have two questions. 1. At 35:46 , when I did manual calculation of the first table to the left, the total number was correct but the other two weren't yet after fixing the relationship issue you said that it is correct. Notwithstanding your instance, I have noticed it in my calculation where by a manual calculation of the figures doesn't add up. Please any clarification to that. 2. Also, at 48:29 when you used the table, there was a blank space at the top with a figure. Please, I need clarifications to that.

Hi everyone! Maybe somebody here could help me with this issue: I have a FactTable with CustomerID and ProductID as ForeignKeys. The CustomerID has also some columns with information about territory such as (City, Region, Country). I tried to combine those columns with the Fact Table, create the new Territory Table related to this columns and then delete the columns from the fact table and the Products Table with Power Query, butn if I delete any of this columns, all their fields become null. As the columns should not repeat in a Star Schema, is there any way that I can separate those columns into a different dimension table and add this new Territory Dimension with his specific Territory Key inserted into the original Fact Table? Thank you very much!

4:55 Why do we need 2 tables for actual sales and target sales , sir ? we can have all these columns Year , Product Name , Actual Sales, Target Sales , in a single table itself , wasn't it ?
@suryateja306
@suryateja306 2 жыл бұрын
Because target sales can be at month level or quarter level and daily sales is at day level. These two should be placed separately. Or else double counting occurs

When you talk about many to many relationships and say its risky, You need to give examples because it's ain't clear what you mean. You need to give clear scenarios so we can understand why not to do this connection.

44:18 a column shuld have atomic value its violating the normalizatin rule , be it normalization or denormalization a single column should not hv more than one value, you should have concatenated both year and product name, or simply selected 2 columns in each table to create an active relationship its that simple ,,,that's the basic stuff u shd be aware of it
