Despite advances in medical science, people in Kashmir still repose trust in faith healers. Crowds line up every day at the house of Ghulam Qadir Reshi, a traditional faith healer, at Dara on the outskirts of Srinagar. The old man, believed to have miraculous healing powers, tends to sick and the ailing while relying on prayers and the Ayurvedic and herbal medicine.

I have been there few years ago. I was suffering from jaundice and I recovered much earlier than other guy who was also suffering from same. When my cousin sister got a spider bite she was taken to SMHS & then to JVC for 2-3 days but no relief in pain n swelling..her whole face n neck was swollen and she was littering in pain as if she was about to die and doctors kept giving pain killers n antibiotics but to no avail ..we absconded from hospital without discharge n took her to Dhara...just in a single day her pain vanished n with in 2 days swelling went away by a simple equational treatment as she was made by heeler himself to eat diced onion with some dua's breathed on.
