This is a compilation of the 80 top Apocalyptic movies.
The list was organized from the best search results I could find. Of course, there will be some I may have left off.
The video is in two sections. The first 15 minutes is focused on the top 30. The second section of the video then looks at the remaining 50. These are just the approximate ranking based on which movies were searched the most on the internet. The list is also somewhat subjective, so there could be videos that should rank higher or vice versa.
Thanks alot for watching.
Don't forget about the 50,000 subscriber giveaway. It is for a complete NBC/CBRN kit with mask and radiarion detector. Valued around 300 bucks. Just subscribe, like the video, share and leave a comment. The more you like and share, the better the chance of winning.

Also, have you ever watched Panic In Year Zero? A family leaves early one morning from Los Angeles for a Summer vacation of camping and fishing. A thermonuclear bomb is detonated and they must survive in the hills. This film was shot and distributed when the Hayes Commission held sway. In spite of bloodless shootings and petroglyphs of teepees that the California Indians never used it is still an excellent and realistic story of survival of a nuclear apocalypse.

Everyone should watch Threads. It's a British, made for TV film about a nuclear attack on the city of Sheffield in the early 1980s and the aftermath of the attack. The documentary-like, matter of fact voice over makes the viewing even more grim, seeing how woefully unprepared we were for that kind of war. The fact that it was made at a time when a nuclear war between East and West was a very real possibility makes it even more powerful.

Some interesting choices. Yet so many missed still. I was really impressed with a recent Aussie film 'These Final Hours'. Another great one is a New Zealand film 'The Quiet Earth'. I even liked 'Maggie' in how it dealt with the increasing plague and how it affected family and friends. Probably the most CLASSIC of apocalyptic dramas has got to be 'On The Beach'. And the most surreal and insane is 'The Bed Sitting Room', utilizing some of the greatest British comedians/actors in the most filthy and dystopian locations.

Some good ones here, but you left out what could very well be the most tragic & realistic apocalyptic movies ever made, The British film "Threads" chronicles the effects of a major nuclear conflict in a frighteningly dark, rough & realistic way. No zombies or sadistic survivors attacking the protagonists, just a really grim look at what could be. Not everyone's cup of tea & I must admit I enjoyed Zombieland much more, but if there is any point to these films, other than pure entertainment, Threads certainy makes its point - the need to avoid any use of nuclear weapons. "The Day After" made a huge impact after it aired in the US & helped to start a movement toward nuclear weapons treaties between the super powers. It's a shame that Threads isn't more well known since it just might have that same impact, which would certainly be a comfort in late 2022.

To me and many others Threads is still the most shocking and depressing hard to sit through apocalyptic films I've ever seen , I've seen it twice once when it first Aired in 84 on the bbc and second and last time a few years ago on dvd , it's just relentlessly bleak and unforgiving not bad for a drama that literally used rice krispies and tomato sauce for blast burns victim's and was made on a shoestring budget from the bbc. I thought you might be referring to A Boy And His Dog (1975). It had nothing to do with fuel or a high tech city. It did have a post-apocalyptic thermonuclear wasteland and underground cities that kidnapped "fresh blood" from the surface. It's from a novel by Harlan Ellison.

Try to locate "Remnants", a 2013 movie with Tom Sizemore. Ignore the scenes with Sizemore as they were added after the movie was finished to try and add "star appeal". The movie was an indie film shot in the Carolinas (IIRC) in 2012 or so and released in 2013 and depicts how a gated community deals with an extrasolar event that acts like a super EMP. It's gritty and while low budget, it examined the group dynamics of how neighbors would handle such an event rather than focusing on the lone wolf or wandering band in gas masks trope.

KZbin blocked it due to one of the clips I used. Apparently there was a copyright issue. So I had to re-edit it and upload again. Thanks.

Reign of Fire should be #1 on this list. I didn’t see it in the top 30 or the next 50.

Doomsday should definitely be on the list. The movie has an excellent idea for our border wall too. Scout's Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse was really good too, for the comic relief aspect anyway. Book of Eli was probably my favorite from the list. I love Denzel Washington and of course I can't get enough Mila Kunis.

@@ara2805 it was no award winner by any stretch but you gotta admit the craziness in that movie was entertaining. Entertaining not educational. LOL and I loved the automated machine guns on the border wall.

The two very first apocalyptic movies should have gotten an honorable mentioned. Deluge (1933) and Things to Come (1936).

Its funny how most people cant wait for the doomsday to be some bad ass survivor when in reality you will be dead in 2 weeks.

I like your pose I don’t think I’d be dead in two weeks I think I might stretch it out to several months depending on what supplies I had and how determined I was. It’s easy to sit back when you’re comfortable and watch a movie and make the big decisions thanks for your post.
