Mikazuki is my favorite gundam pilot. I remember how Mika was left after the mobile armor fight, losing mobility only made things more simple for him. Physical exercise and sport always meant a lot to me to balance out stress, mind and health but now the medic told me to quit all forms of exercise forever, and to be glad to enough mobility left to live a normal daily life. I have lots of physical strength right now, but using any of it is absolutely forbidden, all I can do is watch my strength fade out. And Mika didn't change, he was right, things -can- become easier, I can still focus on the other things I enjoy doing that don't require physical stress, and become better at them, and most importantly I can walk around normally and gently, and use all my 5 senses.

@vandheerlorde65705 жыл бұрын
Talking about season 2. In a nutshell: Forced "reality of war" ending thats completely off tune is why people dont like it. Explaining Its not written off just because its not a happy end. Its written off because its a bad end and the story was lead down to it by bad writing. Characters killed off for shock value without much meaning(unlike season 1 where characters deaths actually impact something like bisquit. Or when the brother of that other guy died and they had a funeral. These impacted everyone and had permanent impact.) Everything goes perfectly for the enemy(mr democracy who is the very face of corruption). Remember when gundam was about both sides getting a piece of the humble pie(season 1) and no one won without sacrifice. Everyone lost something. Plot device weapon wich has no reason being banned(theres no harmful side or raw destructive power, effects and its not particularly brutal or inhumane like gas, nukes and bio weapons. Its a giant nailgun). The series would have done much better without the existance of this weapon. Plot device female soldier whos always at the right place at the right time to sabotage tekkadans plans. And shes obnoxiously self righteous.(kinda like rei exept he did not have things go his way.) But we wouldnt have our "reality of war" bad end without the 2 plot devices. The epilogue was a forced happy end: now that mgillis, tekkadan are gone and mr democracy stepped into power making the system more democratic.Totally ignoring the fact that he has no principle, will do anything to reach his goals and being corrupt as fuck. Yes hell make everything better. Yes he will work for democracy and not use his powers to issue an era of corruption or anything. He will stop all his evil ways to rule as president. Everything is happier and better than ever(exept for the few tekkadan avengers). Thats the tone coming across.

You know I just realized something about season 2. We watched the protagonists become the bad guys. We saw everything from the Gundam bad guy point of view. We dont get to know the winner's (Galljhorn) backstory and character development. Because they ,while being the antagonists from our viewpoint, are narratively the heroes of the season. Tekkadan wanted to become kings of Mars. They wanted to impose their will on the people of Mars through force for their benefit. Flip the planets and change mobile suits then it would look like Zeon trying to bring down the federation and control earth. The way the bad guys would have some bullshit plot moment or action which would completely ruin Tekkadan's plan. Think about it we are on the receiving end of what we usually see the protags do to the antags of most other series. It's a bitter taste in my mouth now that I think about it.
@loyalcav15753 жыл бұрын
I kind of see it as Good and Evil are almost irreverent in season 2. They are all fighting for themselves. In a sense Orga got what he wanted in the end. People in Tekkadan living on. Gjallarhorn won the war but they're undoubtedly the villains. Gjallarhorn and the Earth Economic Blocs economically exploited Mars for a long time (centuries?) and rule Mars at the time of the show. Their domination of the solar system is a big reason why so many children, like a bunch of the Tekkadan kids, are enslaved ("human debris") and why people on Mars are so poor and bad off that children, like Mika and Orga, sold themselves into labor contracts. Rustal Elion doesn't appear in season 1 but the fleet he commands is the same one that set up the Dort colony workers to die because they wanted higher wages. Nothing is heroic about Gjallarhorn. And I seem to recall Orga mentioning that he drew partial inspiration for the "Kings of Mars" thing from Kudelia and her political work which means he pursued Martian independence to benefit the people of Mars.
@SubzeroBlack683 жыл бұрын
At the very beginning Mika said it himself, He will push forward endlessly without stop while Orga steers for them and they will only stop when they "reach their destination"... It went from Tekkadan only wanted a safe home to take care of each other and live their life. Then they got control of their own group and finally got that. Then they wanted the rights to be respected as people. Then they wanted to secure their future of other kids and people like them. Then they wanted Freedom (Mars Freedom) and Independence to rule themselves and not be used or tools again. Honestly theres nothing wrong with the escalation, its what everyone would want in their situation. Gjallarhorn Wanted to establish stability, peace, and stop the extinction of mankind across the Solar System. No matter the cost or means needed. Mars being able to get everything they wanted at the end would of setup a domino effect across the System of other places doing the same, but other organizations wouldnt have the same ideals as Tekkadan. Tekkadan sadly set themselves on a Suicide run when none of the characters had a true goal or objective. They are borken kids with a twisted logic of their upbringing. This story is an Epic and like all Epics they are built upon Tragedy and Sorrow.

@@xdredbruny2 the show isn't about ""happy shit"" But it does have a ton of "positive "themes. It's just the way everything turns out at certain points that make this a" sad" show. Personal growth, willpower, what it means to be family, finding a place in the world, even if it ends up bad it doesn't mean the "the journey" And what to be learned from it didn't exist. Viewing things as happy or sad is a black and white way of viewing things that will only ruin ones view of the world depending on who it is. Just because a hero defeated the villain, doesn't mean it's happy. There's/was still suffering, loss, having to grow up, development, etc. Most fights aren't about the physical aspect, it's about the symbolism and meaning behind it all. Every blow is the equivalent of a response in a verbal argument about a very philosophical point. "Asspull" This "plot armor" That, and even when the foreshadowing or happenings are explained people still claim these things, and even then judging a whole industry from the 5 shows they've seen just because it has a lot of episodes. If you're watching anime for the action then you're better off sticking to the western world and its media. Sauce: Gundam iron blooded orphans My opinion on the series and how well it helps the gundam franchise: gundam ibo is one of my favorite mecha and gundam anime in the whole franchise, the way they explain how the calamity war and the mobile suits are very good, the designs are awesome and brutal as hell like the barbatos lupus Rex and the hashmal, when it comes to character development it’s pretty good, could have been better with some characters but with mika, orga, and a few others it’s very good, Mika learning how important and protecting the future for his friends and orga learning that he doesn’t have to rely on his elders and can become an awesome leader. What it does to the gundam franchise is a bit strange it doesn’t take place during a timeline of some of the gundams but it’s like a new timeline and story, that’s why there’s barely any mobile suits such as barbatos and why other gundams are mention like the wing or the rx-78. What it contributes is good because without the awesome designs in this series we wouldn’t have seen such development in the gundam franchise. The story is amazing and brutal and actually shows the brutality of war and what would happen if there where mobile suits and people living on Mars and earth being in a sort of a crisis Honestly check it out it’s a very awesome anime but I suggest watching other gundam anime to understand more of the mobile suits and their origin sorta. 8/10 anime and there’s 2 seasons heck yea

It was a controversial ending, a lot of people think Mcgillis was turned into an idiot near the end to suit the plot, others think he just had a lack of foresight, you can find entire forum boards ran to about IBO's ending. It makes for good discussion material and a good critical thinking exercise.

Setsuna used to be my favorite pilot until I saw mika in Barbatos, and man he was ten times the man that setsuna is even while standing two to three feet shorter .... Mika would probably win a fight between them too ,he is just so much more ruthless and brutal than setsuna.
@Aniimefaan5 жыл бұрын
Not only that, just comparing their tech Setsuna wouldn't stand a chance. IBO takes place so far in the future armor plating has become so advanced lasers slide off of it harmlessly, now just imagine how much more advanced other common mobile suit technologies are as well such as hydraulics, propulsion systems, numatic systems. The only edge I see Setsuna and the Exia having is fuel efficiency. To be frank, Mika could probably take down the entire 00 team singlehandedly because the 00 team primarily uses beam weapons which are absolutely, inarguably, completely useless against Barbatos' advanced armor. Setsuna is the only 00 pilot who would stand a chance against Mika and that would have to be in a melee. But Mika still holds the advantage there because of the surgery he underwent. While Mika technically pilots the Barbatos because of the surgury it doesn't feel like steering, or piloting, to him. The surgury makes it so that to Mika it's like he's wearing Barbatos. The Barbatos becomes an extension of Mika. While this is a huge advantage generally speaking the advantages of this are especially lethal in a melee. Setsuna is piloting a suit, Mika is wearing a highly advanced suit. There is no comparing them.
@MechaZen5 жыл бұрын
Aniimefaan No dude setsuna would probs win. Between the two shows IBO is superior in its emotional aspect compared to 00. However i digress there's no fucking way 00-quanta will lose to a barbatos lupus rex. Both pilots are melee experts in their respective franchise however when it comes to skill i believe mika will come up on top but due to the difference in their machines mika will lose. It is true thay IBO's MS are immune to laser attacks remember setsuna still has a lot of gn blades that function a lot like funnels and has access to trans-am mode thats too much for the demon lord to handle.
@Aniimefaan5 жыл бұрын
@@MechaZen you're forgetting that 00 takes place in AD. AD is basically ancient history in the time IBO takes place in. Think of cars and how they have evolved over time, a car in the time of Henry Ford couldn't even reach 40mph. Now compare a Henry Ford car to a 2018 Koenigsegg super car. The Barbatos doesn't JUST have superior armor, EVERY aspect of the Barbatos is basically science fiction to Setsuna or any other member of the 00 crew. The armor on the Exia is only capable of withstanding so much blunt force, in its time when it was made the armor would understandably be able to take dozens of blows from other mobile suits able to hit with an amount of force appropriate for machines of that time period. Now, just as cars and car technology evolves over time so do mobile suits and mobile suit technology. The Barbatos' armor is made to withstand dozens of blows from machines hitting with an amount of force appropriate for its time, which is in the far flung future. So, like how cars evolved and now go much, MUCH faster, mobile suits now hit much, MUCH harder. The Barbatos hits with an amount of force that the Exia could not possibly be designed, or reasonably expected, to withstand. And the Exia, being a relic of ancient history compared to the Barbatos, could not reasonably be expected to have the technology capable of generating enough force to pierce Barbatos' armor. Hell, depending on how advanced paint is the Exia might not even be able to scuff the Barbatos. You seriously do not understand just how rapidly technology evolves and just how quickly technology can become obsolete (Thu rendering the GN blades useless). And trans-am would would only accomplish in delaying the inevitable, nothing else. Turning a Henry Ford into a 1970 mustang won't make a difference against a 2018 super car of any variety, let alone Koenigsegg. And then there is still the difference of the pilots. In the beginning of the series when the advanced (for its time) tech of Celestial Being was still secret Setsuna struggled against the great Ali Al Sachez 'Great machine, shame about the pilot though'. At a similar point in IBO Mika had beaten, and then executed, a gjallarhorn captain in the Barbatos when it was a jumbled mess of crisis-war era tech and Martian salvage while running on fumes. While comparing these might paint a picture that isn't my point nor the reason I'm bringing it up. The reason I raise these points is because of what these particular scenes are meant to tell the audience. Setsuna is being painted as an underdog hero, the young rookie pilot in a wicked machine similar to the classic og pilot Amuro. Mika is shown to be an overdog, a prodigy, a raid boss, a (he he) demon. Both pilots get better and better as the series both progress but their starting points are staggeringly different. THEN there is Mika's surgery that allows him to directly, physically connect to the Barbatos. While we see him piloting the Barbatos similarly to Setsuna that makes it easy to forget that Mika is physically connected to Barbatos and that while it LOOKS like he is piloting in the same normal way Setsuna does that is not the case. To Mika it's like he's wearing the Barbatos like a suit. This gives Mika a huge advantage over any pilot who has not undergone the same surgery and in CQC these advantages become especially lethal. However, someone familiar with the flight, or movement, patterns of surgically altered pilots can exploit this as was Pointed out in the first space fight in IBO. However, the technology for the surgery more than likely did not exist in setsuna's time so he'd be clueless. Barbatos has superior tech, able to hit harder and take harder hits. Mika is an overdog, Setsuna is an underdog Setsuna is a traditional pilot, Mika is surgically altered. Again, there is no comparing them. Even if you don't agree with the overdog/underdog comparison (because that one is the only subjective point i made) the other points are still far too damning.

@@Aniimefaan I didn't know I was going to start a comment debate, so it's not a big deal ... I put Mika on a higher pedestal because he and Barbados can both tank and dish out punishment in equally large amounts. They took down an angel ( think that is what you call them) , autonomous machines designed to be anti mobile suit weapons, and while Barbados was designed for fighting the angels it's still no guarantee that it and Mika would win, so it's pretty impressive when you Hunt the Hunter. And let's not forget that gjallarhorn had to basically tactically nuke Mika and Barbados from orbit with those "illegal" anti spaceship torpedo/harpoons to even have a chance against Mika and the remaining pilots
