I have been watching Cricket since 1992 - massive supporter of England. But I have never seen anyone so graceful and stylish as VVS Laxman on a Cricket field...... He was so easy on the eyes.... Class act.

Laxman and Yuvraj were such great players. In the 80s and early 90s both of them would make the test and ODI side. But during their time, thanks to the fully loaded batting side of the Indian team, both of them kept each other out of one format. Laxman played the Test and Yuvraj played the ODI through most of their careers. Both of them not letting the other enter into their format at no.5 position.

Me and my friends nicknamed him "Very Very Special" Laxman after his 281 vs Australia. We watched the entire match live on TV, which was a rarity (for us) in those days as we usually listened to matches on radio. We also watched his escape act against the same team when India were 9 wickets down and he was batting with a back spasm and a tailender with 20 odd runs still to be scored.

Where was Dravid from? Haryana? Laxman played 134 freaking test matches. 3rd highest by an Indian. Don't try to portray him as a victim of some sort. He was simply mediocre in limited overs.

Nostalgia is clouding your judgement there, Kohli can absolutely be compared with Laxman & can be said as the better test batsman than VVS, we aren't talking about some Pujara or Rahane here whose test average is 43 & 38, we are talking about VK who is one of the greatest batsman in the history of cricket.
