Well, if you have so many holes as in a piece of cheese, and smoke is coming from all the cracks, then landing a "half the plane" is much better - than nothing.

Fire. Fire with explosion(s) is both likely and expected and also dramatic, especially if the airplane has un jettisoned ordinance or auxiliary gas tanks.

Well I am trying to grind up to the modern planes on War Thunder, but outside of that I do not know of any good modern flight sims! Otherwise I definitely would like that. I do plan on getting Microsoft 2020 Flight Sim as soon as it comes out.

P-51, all I have to say is flaps!!

The P-51 used hydraulics for everything, which means that one bullet through the landing gear or just a hose in the fuselage somewhere could disable all the hydraulic systems, including the flaps. The landing gear did have a manual backup, but that's about it.

@@FreeRangeLemon ha ha i guess that demonstrates what a poor choice we have in combat sims right now. They both look pretty but the flight models as in the way they move around are awful.

ricardoroberto100 Weird. You are the only person I’ve come across who thinks the flight models, at least in DCS, aren’t realistic. I rarely play il2, but it’s damage model is absolutely incredible. I have also heard that their flight models are amazing.

ricardoroberto100 realistic ground collision model doesn’t matter when compared to inflight damage model. I am talking about things players actually do, and flying is the point of the game. If you want realistic collision physics play BeamNG.drive.

@@taran7728 The game is beautiful, but for me, the game was made on top of the ROF engine, so when you stress the stick the plane has strange behaviors (all the planes), FM`s craziest I've ever seen in a simulator, Damage model is also the same as the ROF, for WWII it's horrible. What I hate the most in this game are the crazy FM`s of the planes.

@@MrTheedge8 I think the FM's are just fine. Just like in real life if you lose too much airspeed the plane will stall due to lack of airflow over the wings. I had a P-51 go into a flat spin in the game during a dogfight and recovered from it just like you're supposed to. Of course every plane has different flight characteristics and will stall, spin, flip, etc under certain conditions.
