Leaving the best till last. Joan Rivers is the queen of getting laughs at her own expense. She was all kinds of wonderful. RIP Joan. ❤❤❤

When Ellie Taylor spoke about photos of being proud/happy to not be a parent I thought she'd post other people's pics. Like "look at this kid, looking at it makes me happy to not be a mom". On a more serious note: thinking about it myself, and sometimes you see a cute kid or certain parents and go, yeah, that looks great, but other times you see kids and/or parents and are like "Hell, no"😂

it would be really great if these included the year of recording. Joan Rivers has been dead for a decade, and plenty other clips seem quite old too. World has changed a lot since these clips, and so have these comedians.

yeaah, ikr. But, I do think this is quite an old clip. Possibly she knows a bit better now. Also, it is only in recent years that awareness and discussion in these things has grown, so there's a lot of unlearning for even the ones you'd assume are better aware.

So, Desiree Burch is an American, but she’s spent her entire career in the UK. Her inclusion makes sense. Why is Joan Rivers in here? She’s the only one who isn’t funny. I was born at the beginning of her career. The reason she’s lauded is because she was the ONLY woman in comedy in the national stage in the 60s, and that was all down to Johnny Carson. Her famous “self-deprecation“ was always self-loathing, and she managed to be misogynistic at the same time. That took some doing, I reckon. Still, a jarring end.

10 stone is 140 lbs, which is a perfectly normal, healthy weight for the average woman. Jo Brand would wish to be 6 stone so she could eat her way back "up" to 10 stone? I guess that's the joke? Because she has clearly already eaten her way far past 10 stone.
@shoujobarton76926 ай бұрын
She was saying she would take the pill to get down to 6 stones instead of the normal 10 stones.

Sarah Pascoe still stands out over all of these brilliant women, and they all make me laugh. But Sarah is head and shoulders above the pack - even that giant Scottish one with hands like a roofer. And The goddess of female comics, Joan Rivers, is never less than her best. She still resonnates.
