I remembered the magazines back in the day, such as EGM, praising the next-level artistic qualities of SF3TS. To see a hadoken, Chun Li’s legs move, Ibuki’s clothes sway and float, the creepy but silk like movements of Necro…all fascinating to me as a young teenager.

It's in the name. Street Fighter should make you feel like you're in the streets. Street fighting is an illegal sport, and the only people doing it within the world of Street Fighter are hermits, hoodlums, weirdos, fanatics, rogue paramilitary soldiers, and elites operating in the shadows. They're either people who don't fit in with society or people who twist society to their own ends. 3rd Strike is amazing because it understands that core concept and nails it aesthetically while also delivering on complex and interesting gameplay.

The SF3 vibe is the most "street" street fighter. The hip-hop music is so good for a videogame-it actually sounds authentic. Hip-hop with video games lyrics usually sounds cheesy. I hope they bring some of that back to SF6. I think the parry mechanic would be so sick in SF6, plus the toning down of projectile invincible moves. They just need to remove air parry and have parry deal some recoverable damage like focus absorb.

To fight Q - Can't lose any rounds Q should appear after you finish Stage 7. - Not continue. You're not supposed to lose rounds - Get a grade D or better grade on every stage. - Get 2 or more "Special Points." You get these from getting better grades each match. - Get more than 5 Super Art Finishes. If you change the maximum rounds in a match, this condition's formula is basically: [Number of Max Rounds in Each Match + 2 Super Art Finishes = Condition Met] For example, if you set the matches to end after one round, you would need to use 3 Super Art Finishes throughout the game.

The simplest solutions are often the strongest. I still don't understand why the 3S universal parry mechanic did not become a SF staple in SF4 and SF5 (in which only a few characters can parry). It literally elaborated on defense mechanics in the simplest way possible. Hold back to turtle, or tap forward at the right time to create your own opening. It's such a simple and genius way to allow game knowledge to level the playing field at high levels of play no matter what tier your character may be.
@ILoveToEatRed40

Same reason as why focus and v shift won’t return in later installments. Parrying gives 3rd strike a uniqueness exclusive that game. I think it’s great what they did in five by giving it to only ryu or how tekken 7 and smash gave the shotos focus. Street fighter innovates and the mechanic they implement should service the game
@lit_wick
@lit_wick 2 жыл бұрын
Check out bbtag and granblue. Both have universal overheads.
@markalexander6036
@markalexander6036 2 жыл бұрын
Capcom may not be keen on bringing back parrying because it negates certain character arechetypes entirely. The fireball zoner is one of the greatest legacies of Street Fighter and it really can't exist in the same space as a Third Strike parry. Maybe they could bring back parrying in Street Fighter by nerfing it closer to CvS2. However, would a nerfed parry be giving people what they want or just setting them up for dissappointment? Maybe it could work. I think it would be cool if Capcom revisited a universal parry for Street Fighter 6 but changed it up a little so its more balanced. Keep in mind, parrying is so strong in Third Strike that it forces the players to strategize around it. A somewhat abusable tactic in Third Strike is to tap parry and immediately return to block in order to option select a footsies interaction. Parrying doesn't neccesarily even the playing field on the tierlist either. Top/high tiers are generally better at playing around parry than mid/low/bottom tiers.
@Shodan130
@Shodan130 2 жыл бұрын
because while parry is a good mechanic. alot of SF heads HATE it. i respect parry and i think it's cool. but i hate playing 3s because of parry. it does too much to bring the game away from the things alot of people love about street fighter and takes away from the fundamental core (personally) that other SF games have. personally i love a3 and ST and if those games had parry i probably would not of liked them. in saying that 3s needs parry as the game would be stupid busted without it

What I loved about Street Fighter III was the overall feel of the world. The Street Fighter world had an almost dystopian feel to it in this game as nearly all of the original cast was gone. So it gives off the impression that we are MANY years since Street Fighter II. Leaving questions like what happened to them and the imagination of me as as 12 year old went wild. I remember my friend made up a bunch of fan fiction I believed as fact(he did this a lot) saying Sagat died(killed by Gill for not joining him) Guile(along with other characters) retired from fighting, Akuma killed Bison with the raging demon(a popular theory and honestly one I wished was canon) Dudely defeated Balrog etc.

I have good memories with this game. Every morning before school, my mom would take me to get a donut, and the arcade machine for the game was there. I’ve seen so many people play it and I remember fondly just seeing all the characters. The style, presentation, the cool super moves are stuff that stuck with me.

I recently got to play 3rd strike for the first time. Me being new to the game played my first arcade ladder on the easiest difficulty. When I went up against Sean he spent the whole fight spamming the move where he goes "tornaa". So going through the whole fight hearing "tornaa tornaa tornaa tornaa tornaa" was pretty frustrating.

SF3 has aged like a timeless renaissance painting FFS. What a STUNNING BEAUTY, visually, stylistically, audio-wise, 🕹gameplay-wise. Every aspect of the game is both timelessly classic, and FRESH AF, not a spec of dust on it💿. (Except the original bitrate arcade audio 🎤📉📞lol) But the PS2 Arranged OST ? Masterpiece. The masterfully comprehensive online edition by Iron Galaxy ? The most beautiful and well presented of them all, but the PS2 arranged OST is better than OE “updated” OST. ALL THAT SAID… I still abso-MF-lutely cannot wait for : 1. SF3 Collection - -- SF3: New Generation -- SF3: 2nd Impact -- SF3: Third Strike -- SF3: 3rd Strike ↗️Upper “3rd Strike ↗️Upper” would include all stages and audio tracks from all 3 titles, as well as from their arranged console versions♻️, as well as several additional playable characters, that Capcom planned to include in the cancelled 4th installment of the SF3 series. And with that momentum: 2. Marvel vs Capcom Collection: -- X-Men: COTA -- Marvel Super Heroes -- X-Men vs SF -- Marvel SH vs SF -- Marvel vs Capcom 1 -- Marvel vs Capcom 2 -- Marvel vs Capcom 2 ↗️ Upper MVC2↗️ Upper would include all stages and audio tracks from all 6 titles, as well as from their arranged console versions, as well as several cancelled characters from the series, with the most completed animation, other than their assist animations from MVC1♻️. And after that, if possible: 3. Capcom vs SNK Collection: -- Capcom vs SNK -- Capcom vs SNK Pro -- Capcom vs SNK 2 -- Capcom vs SNK 2 ↗️ Upper CVS2↗️ Upper would include all stages and audio tracks from all 3 titles, as well as from their arranged console versions, as well as several additional playable characters, that Capcom planned to include in the cancelled 4th installment of the CVS series♻️. Each collection could command 💲77.77 - 💲88.88 USD, for the physical editions📙, with 24x36 posters, easily. 💙💛DO THE RIGHT THING, CAPCOM !💙💛 PEACE ! ☮️

Dunno how often it's done, although I'd assume many players know about it since info travels fast nowadays. GIll has a projectile barrier _and_ physically pushes you away during the animation, so interrupting it requires very specific actions and/or at least premeditated positioning, iirc. Notice Max does only a fierce DP to ensure he nails it.

Max the real reason why no one knew about street fighter 3 and double impact is because not too many arcades had those locally. Not many people even knew about street fighter 3 until 3rd strike. Personally I went years withiut seeing it until one day I told my friend how I wished there were a third game in the main series after playing Capcom vs. SNK. He literally looked at me and said Jay you're about to see some crazy shit, let's go ti Nickel Nickel. I didn't even know what this place was but sho nuff this dude took me there and I saw Third Strike for the first time and was blown away. My first character was Remy.

I hope SF6 is basically 3rd Strike 2.0 in the way RE 8 is is RE4 2.0. Bring back the hip-hop/drum & bass aesthetic and focus heavily on passing the torch to a largely new cast of characters.

I love the hip hop theme to Street fighter 3 third strike. I told a friend back in the early 2000s third strike would go down above marvel versus Capcom 2 and he thought I was crazy at the time but then I showed him the daigo Perry and the rest was history LOL. Don't get me wrong, I love marvel versus Capcom 2 and if you catch me on the right day I might even say it's better than Street fighter 3 third strike but third strike is just one of those technical masterpieces that cannot be quantified in terms of character volume or crazy 100 hit combos... It's just a very well done technical fighting game that forces you to think and strategize...

Where I'm from, at the time, Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag took all the fame at our local arcade, and nobody cared much for 3rd Strike, if only to pass the time while waiting for their turn on the Tekken queue. That means we mostly had the cabinet for ourself, me and my friend, and we would fight the shit out of each other. He was maining Akuma, while I was having a ton of fun with that new char, Makoto.

Hearing the Family Fun Arcade story is wild to me. In the area I grew up in there wasn't much of a video game scene. I was pretty much the odd one out for playing games until I was almost done with high school, during the 360 era, and at that point the community had mostly moved to online. It's a shame I never got to experience something like that

Played every rendition on SF even the broken arcade cabinets that allow 100 air sonic booms lol. Third Strike was so different from any other title. It seemed like the one Capcom always wanted to produce, which is why so many people still love it today. I wish everyone could go back and feel what its like to wait 20mins in an arcade line just to waste .50c getting my ass handed to me. You can tell the devs LOVED making this. Its not a game, Third Strike is an experience.
