JP is Ian Paice meets Elvin Jones.... he's fluid, powerful and delicate all in one. Such grace and finesse...a true drummer in every sense.

Sounds of the Underground in Vancouver a couple years ago... Clutch was the only band that had technical difficulties, and they had a TON. Guitars and microphones kept dying. Everytime it happened, Gaster didn't even miss a beat, he just flowed into a drum solo while the rest of the band tried to fix their shit. On stage for fifty minutes, only played four songs, but Gaster never stopped once.

I wouldn't even be disappointed. That would be an experience. CLUTCH can do no wrong in my eyes.

JP's drumming certainly suits his band Clutch. Very creative and colourful. Love it to pieces.

I'm not surprised he's this amazing. Neil said that as soon as they've put the gear and merch in the trailer, JP sets up his practice kit and practices for 6 hours straight.

His playing is very inspiring to me because he has a truly individual feel. Amazing technical ability too, but what makes him stand out is the way he plays what he plays.

There's too many amazing drummers to say he's the best, but he is definitely up at the top with the best in my opinion. He is THUNDEROUS.

I say he is the best, but I'm a bit biased. Clutch has been my favorite band since 1993.

Just saw them with Hellyeah Saturday. They played 2 new songs which was awesome and after Clutch played everyone left! lmfao There were about 5-10 people left to watch Hellyeah who was headlining the show. JP, Ace Frehley, Neil Fallon, Les Claypool on one song would be destructive!

@dirtpipedan JP is my fav by far, but I think the guy from Suicide Silence is the best I've seen. Alex something. I hate the singer, but that guy is amazing.

He is an amazing drummer but by far not the best. I saw him play drunk- ass hell and clearly on his beerteenth beer, still wail on the drums effortlessly. He is this generation's John Bonham. I'd like to see him play in a Led Zeppelin reunion tour with Plant, Page and Jones. He is the only one who could do those songs any justice!!!!....

I think he is a very good drummer, the best? definitely not. JPs solos are really really good fundamentally, and they sound great, but he's not exactly pushing any boundaries. I would explore some more drummers before declaring him the best, much less fucking other drummers.
