The Podcast is my favorite content from the 1916 Company, as informative as enjoyable, it's also deep enough without getting too geeky

Tim is absolutely right about blockchain being a gimmick. It’s a technology that only makes sense for trust-less transaction verifications (ie: crypto currencies).

That, and articles generally that aren't physical. A watch with a receipt or bill of sale has enough documentation. And the whole "blockchain" idea applied to a watch makes it incumbent on the owners, watchmakers, and dealers to actually update the chain. The whole premise of cryptocurrencies is that it's really hard to wash or alter the blockchain in fraudulent ways as the currency is mined and traded. Best, Tim

I’ll play devils advocate for the sake of debate. Blockchain provides an open audit trail so the opportunity for watches is logging owner and service history that can’t be lost or falsified, reducing fraud and potentially theft. Maintaining the record needs addressing but manufacturers should take responsibility if they want to offer this as a free value add service.

Great Show and a lot of topics covered, phew. Bdw, you missed the Omega Speedmaster Chrono Chime, I don’t think I’ve seen something like that, either mainstream or independent.

Why not go for the least complicated watch, a minimalist mechanism, let’s say a zen design.
