Greatest Lok Sabha speech on North East India

Last night, close to midnight, Manipur MP Angomcha Bimol Akoijam delivered one of the most historic speeches on North East India ever heard in the Lok Sabha. It was iconic and will be remembered for decades. Unfortunately, most of us in the North East missed it due to the late hour, something even the speaker noted. However, this was precisely the kind of speech we have longed to hear in Parliament-fierce, powerful, clear, and articulate. Anyone remotely interested in Manipur will understand its significance. For over a year, Manipur has been a forgotten state for New Delhi, and lawlessness still prevails. It’s a shame that he was given time to speak so late at night when his speech deserved prime time. This timing reflects how we often ignore Manipur, treating it as someone else’s problem. This speech is one of the most significant to come out of the North East, highlighting how colonialism and post-colonialism have remained unchanged, regardless of who sits in New Delhi. Thank you, Bimol Akoijam, for standing up and speaking not only for the 60,000 refugees but also for the more than one lakh displaced families and the entire North East, which has historically sent weak and voiceless MPs, except for a few like Hem Barua, Gaurav Gogoi, and now you. A true leader of northeast. Whatever he had spoken in the house is true. Right from the beginning post colonial period. No minister has been taken seriously. BJP government suppose to take significant step to stop the manipur violence. Being a north eastern inhabitant we dont trust any minister or MP. As of now no significance changes in the unemployment sector. No multinational companies are being set up due to poor infrastructure. We want to see drastic change be it congress or bjp. We don't see any pay party we see only a good person. We don't trust in the politics. We trust in the action only. Whoever work for northeast we vote for them only be it Congress or bjp. Our mindset has been transforming. past 70 yrs regime also seen. Now also watching whoever doesn't work we will not vote.

Yes ,Mr Bimol is indeed one of the rarest MP of the Entire North East India who can place the actual voice of the people in the floor of parliament. I hope many more good things can be expected from him not only for the North East India but for the entire country.

An iconic speech by MP Bimol Akoijam of Inner Manipur. Exposes the neglect that the NE in particular Manipur has to endure in the lopsided number game federal set up that we have in place. Even the time allotted for his maiden speech here is around midnight where all the other MPs have left except for some braveheart MPs from the NE . Shame shame is all that comes to one's mind when one sees all the facades that the chairman puts up to silence and sideline such a voice of the likes Mr.Bimol Akoijam.

Mrinal da thank you for uploading this speech , Now I think our Assamese as well as all NE society will come to know pain of their neighbours .The way the our PM is mute spectator not even giving appointment to the Manipur MLA s who were sent to Delhi by agitated youths & meira paibis( mothers group) ,GOI with corporate india have a hidden agenda to creat separate state with Myanmeri national & exploit the natural resources of the state at the cost of indigenous Meitei & Naga people. That is why Assam Rifle is alleged to help this foreign millitants.All NE people should come forward to help NAGA & MEITEI to crush out this anty NE FORCE .
