And that faster oussycat record I love. I don’t think I followed much after that. But I do love that record. And bonded by blood is a thrashterpiece. Great series brother! Stay heavy 🤘

Great Video, again... Helloween is a bit tricky for me: I love both Walls of Jericho and Keepers Part I, very hard to choose for me, so I don't.... Talking about EPs, there is a version of the Walls of JerichoALbum on which the EP and the Song Judas are included - awesome!

Another great video! Love to see the metal journey, I was born in ‘94 so my ‘timings…’ category is a completely different era and scene in heavy music (mid-late 00’s), so here are the bands early in my metal journey as a young teenager who in my opinion never topped their debit: Bullet For My Valentine - The Poison (2005) the perfect blend of melodic and heavy in metalcore, these Welsh lads never quite did an album with such superb songwriting as their debut Evile - Enter The Grave (2007) modern UK thrash at its finest! All of their albums are great from both era’s of either of the Drake brothers on vocals but I always hold this dear to me Suicide Silence - The Cleansing (2007) absolutely crushing and brutal deathcore debut and one of the most influential in the scene, their follow up 2nd album is a close runner up Job For A Cowboy - Genesis (2007) great modern death metal debut - if you can call something from 17 years ago modern 😅 another band whose 2nd album makes a strong statement Anyone in the comments from the newer metal generation let me know any great modern debuts I’ve missed!

Another great episode on Planet6Strings! Regarding Sanctuary, have you explored the Nevermore discography? Several fantastic albums, and Brutal Planet Records released remastered, gold disc reissues of the entire catalog that sound great! I had the honor of promoting/booking Nevermore on their Dreaming Neon Black tour in Richmond, Kentucky, and got to meet and talk with Warrel Dane. Very down to earth, great guy. Sorry he is no longer with us. But I HIGHLY recommend Nevermore. Outstanding metal, great songs. Anyhow, thank you as always and keep up the great work. Cheers, Darcy! 💯🔥🥃

For me my main few are: Firehouse - Firehouse (1990) Absolutely phenomenal Hair Metal, and the first real band Ioved as a little kid (I was five when I first heard them) Disturbed - The Sickness (2000) Nu-Metal was the first genre I myself jumped into (when covid hit and I went from playing sports 6 days a week, to none). Still a fan, still enjoy it despite how corny and cheesy it is, Nu-Metal isn't really something I listen to a lot these days, but yeah it's fun for nostalgia. Limp Bizkit - Three Dollae Bill, Y'all (1997) Like Disturbed, it's corny, overly edgy, very cheesy and not the most musically intricate... but it's fun, it's very fun for that matter. The cover of George Michael's "Faith" is killer as well. Quiet Riot - Metal Health (1983) Metal Health is just so iconic, I remember hearing "Metal Health (Bang Your Head)" for the first time while watching Footloose with my dad, and him saying" You knlw who that is? Quiet Riot" while I just listened awestruck haha. Such a good album, shame the band fell off so much after (despite Condition Critical (1984) being almost as good. Sum 41 - All Killer, No Filler (2001) Heard this at 15 and it scratched my Blink-182, Paramore and Green Day itch greatly! The title is right, man there is not a single bad song on here, and it's only like a half hour! Cheers Darce Honorable mentions that had too much recency bias to mention: Saint Vitus - Saint Vitus (1984) Trouble - Psalm 9 (1984)

Another great installment, Darcy! I'm of an entirely different school of thought on Exodus. The Rob Dukes era is my favorite era of the band - "Shovel Headed Kill Machine" is my favorite Exodus album, and "Exhibit B" is second for me. I also love "Let There Be Blood" and much prefer it to the original "Bonded by Blood" release. I was never a huge fan of Paul Baloff's vocals (RIP), and I much prefer modern recording techniques. But I understand I'm probably in the minority on that one! Love this series, my friend! Rock on!
@darcysixstringsninelives34933 ай бұрын
@@JamesThomas-dz4vj I really warmed up more & more to the Dukes era albums over the years, but I’ve always loved The Atrocity Exhibition EXHIBIT A. Thanks for the great comment & the kind words 🤘 Have a great weekend James :))
@JamesThomas-dz4vj3 ай бұрын
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Heck yeah! I can't fault you for that! If I were ranking the Exodus discography, "Exhibit A" wouldn't be too far down the list. I'd probably have "Tempo of the Damned" ranked slightly ahead of it, but then again, I've always preferred the more modern albums, even for classic bands. Overkill is my favorite thrash band of all time, and my top 2 Overkill albums are "The Electric Age" (2012) and "Ironbound" (2010). Go figure!
