@Berty Considering how controversial Thatcher was, I think quite a few would argue that Hacker was the best since the 70's period. 😛
@timmygoldstein2 жыл бұрын
@bertywooster1489 Even John Major was controversial due to his economic policy, which was roughly as disastrous as Liz Truss' - at least according to the Bank of England's records of the matter. Thatcher does get an invariably bad reputation for her hardline approach, which is also why Major isn't nearly as controversial, even though he arguably should be. What really irks people is likely the ideological objectives to couple the country to the European Union's affairs, leading to the economic crisis of his time.

It is a fundamental principle of the British constitution that the government must retain the confidence of the legislature, as it is not possible for a government to operate effectively without the support of the majority of the people's representatives.[3] At the national level, this means that the UK government (the cabinet) must retain the confidence of a majority in the House of Commons. It is possible for a vote of no confidence to succeed where there is a minority government or a small majority, or """where there are internal party splits leading to some members of the ruling party voting against its leaders"" . Where there is a minority government, the government may seek agreements or pacts with other parties in order to prevail in the vote and remain in office. Clearly the party is split, they didn't even have a proper vote on their new leader, Rishi secured his majority throug a deal with Suella Braverman. There is a criminal cartel at the heart of the tory party and british polotics. The Cartel have been playing a trick on us like a tired, lame Magician. We can see how the trick is done, we know how the tricks been done before, we know you're doing it again now, and wer're not going to agree again to double or quits. This is beyond ridicule, this is serious, this is a domestic threat to our democracy. There is no confidence in this government.
