the best ranking i have ever seen , it is difficult to equalize ODI. In 80 or before 200 was winning score , upto year 2000 , 250 - 275 was winning score , in 210 , it reaches to 325 , and after that 350. and equally batesman average and strike rate changes . There are some of my personal favourite not in the list like desilva , inzi , clive loyed , gilly, azahar , gower , crow but still the list is very much perfect . well researched

With odi cricket the rate as well as the averege by which the runs are made should be brought into contention. When you calculate it this way you will see that Kohli and AB should be close to the top - if NOT ON TOP! This will show your list is exactly what it is.....personal preference for dummies! N

Please ask the current batsmen to play on the pitches of 1970s and 80s , which were not covered, no helmets, poor quality pads, against Jeff Thomson, Dennis Lillee, Malcom Marshall, Mike Holding, Andy Roberts, etc. Their average would be in the 30s. Not to mention, the batting friendly modern pitches.

Odi batsmen should be divided into two parts. Batmen who made debut after 2000 and batsmen who made debut before 2000. After 2000 batsmen with avg of 40 were equal to batsmen with avg of 35 before 2000.

I like the list. Very interesting. I disagree with a great many of the entries but appreciate that everyone's opinion will be different. If you went purely by stats then it would only include modern players, as so much more limited overs cricket is played now. I enjoyed seeing your inclusion of Gordon Greenidge. I think some major stats and conditions must be in ur mind before making this list such as total runs scored , avg, strike rate and winning knocks . (before 2000) avg of 40 is equal to avg of 50( after 2000). Strike rate 70( before 2000) is equal to strike rate 90(after 2000) Vir at kohli hundred must be over sachin's hundred because he have more winning knocks.

This list is almost perfect according to the innings they played in those situation and not accumulated runs or matches. Of course Sanath Jayasuriya, Sehwag, Matt Hayden, Gilly and Inzy should be there but list is top20 not top25. Viv should be no.1 as no one is ever near to his average nor the way he treated those bowling greats without proper gears and technology, pure class. No fear..

Cricketers with 200+ ODIs were usual only amongst those who debuted during late 1980s or at best the late 70s. Crazy and funny. If you make a top 20 ODI list without Babar Azam, Sanath Jayasurya and Adam Gilchrist you have been watching a different game. Brian Lara is super great, but in top 10 ODI batsmen? don't understand the logic by which Bevan comes ahead of Dhoni, where the latter has done pretty much everything like the former, only in more volume and more frequently. And Mark Waugh - really, in ODI top 20 all time list? Even that man will be laughing.

Some people is saying that how comes Kohli is before some of the other players them, that means. Those people does not know it means to be a great player, Kohli scored 12,508 runs and 43 hundreds compared to the rest of batsmen. Only Tendulkar with 18,000 runs and 49 centuries, and Ricky Pointing with 13,670 runs and 30 centuries.Sagarrakar with over 12,7 54 runs with 25 centuries, so these guys need to looked at the players them stats.Before making themselves as a mockery of discussion, because it is very stupid.I don't see Viv Richards as the greatest ODI batsman of all times, because he does not have enough runs or centuries.
