My pick for 2008 is Undertaker vs Edge at Mania 24! There are probably “better” matches, but this is the most underrated Mania main event imo. The story going into this was really good, Edge had his first crack in the main event of Mania, and the two had a perfect chicken shit heel (who can still get the job done on his own merits) vs the badass world destroying face. Plus, this was the feud that got me into wrestling. My first wrestling memory was Edge beating Mick Foley’s ass on Smackdown before Summerslam 2008 and Edge (Adam now haha) is to this day my favorite of all time. The only thing that would have made this match better would be if Edge won at Mania 23 so they could have a Streak vs Streak match

Personally, I think Sami Zayn vs Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber is the best match to take place this year. It was the conclusion to one of the greatest storyline arcs in wrestling history, plus it elevated Sami Zayn into the main event scene which was long overdue.

For 2008, it's gotta be HBK vs. Jericho in a ladder match from No Mercy. I was 9 at the time and probably at the peak of my fandom, and was so unbelievably invested in the feud with Shawn being my favourite wrestler. You really owe it to yourself to watch as much of this feud as possible in the lead up to the blow off ladder match. They had other matches prior to this one, and a plethora of great segments as well. You would probably have to start with HBK and Flair at Mania to get the full scope of the story and just find every RAW segment and match featuring either guy after that from Mania onwards. It sounds like a lot, but it's worth it, because the storytelling was fairly complex and nuanced, especially for a pro wrestling story.

I LOVE the 2020 Royal Rumble match. It is the best one of all time no argument. Brock Lesnar entering at #1 as the WWE Champion and going on a killing spree. Drew McIntyre being the perfect person to eliminate Lesnar. The crowd exploded when he claymored him over the rope. That moment made Drew an instant star. Edge's amazing and emotional return after 9 years, and then at the end, we all thought Roman was going to win, but Drew claymored his face off and threw him over the rope to win!

Yea team Cena vs team authority is easily the best match of 2014 (it’s one of the best matches if not the best match I’ve ever seen). But u said the bar for 2017? I’m just realizing you stopped watching for a bit during my personal favorite era of wrestling for 07-09. I was born in 2000 so that era like 2005-2013/14 was absolutely special to me. It’s always interesting to see the opinion of fans who were slightly before my time. I also stopped watching for a long time after 2014 and would hear things about the WWE after but I didn’t watch n keep up with it. Then in 2020 I watched that years rumble cause of covid and what else was I supposed to do lmao, and that’s when edge returned to the rumble and put on a show and that nostalgia made me crack open the door to the world of wrestling again ever so slightly. Nowadays I’m following it and watching all your videos so you could say I’m back in lol. We had Roman v Jey HIAC, Roman v Jey Clash of Champs, Orton v Edge Backlash, men's Royal Rumble itself, Orton v Wyatt Firefly Inferno Match, Zayn v AJ v Jeff for Intercontinental Championship at Clash of Champs. These were far better than the mentioned one
