I just added 4 more to my gardens. I actually use epoxy on the inside of barrels. What is great about these is you can move them with a little effort to follow the sun. IT is Nov 2023, and Im still producing all the herbs basil etc...and also zucchini chives and beets

Great minds think alike. I literally built nearly the exact thing about a year ago. One idea I did was adding caster wheels on the bottom. One thing I found is that citrus in barrels needs a lot of fertilizer & iron. So you way want to have mulch you can easily remove and water with a hose from the top rather than the bottom.

Never heard of these. I've been thinking of doing a water barrel garden to collect rainwater i.e. stand pond plants in the barrel but allow me to use the water after rain to water pots. This is good idea too x

It’s also possible to grow the plants in a barrel with holes drilled in the bottom and soil in the barrel. Nothing else is needed.
