I had never heard of a machine such as this. You explained it very well. Too bad it's so large and seemingly cumbersome. Since it does virtually the same thing as the vacuum sealer, I think I'll stick with the vacuum sealer I already have. But, I always appreciate you showing us something new, Great Lakes. Thanks for the demonstration!

Thanks Joe. It may be pretty unnecessary for most people's needs. Really, the main reason I'm glad to have it is because it will save a ton of space in my freezer for freezing soups and liquidy things. In the past, I've always used cylindrical freezer containers. They work well, but waste a lot of space. But for more "solid" things, I still find myself using the foodsaver a lot.

Agreed. For liquidy things, it may be the way to go. @@GreatLakesPrepping

I have a wevac CV12 and it is a huge improvement over my suction bag sealers.

I saw Leisa on Suttons Daze review this too. My son is a chef and they use these a lot in their pro kitchen. I’m thinking how Guga uses his too doing sous vide beef on his channel. Pretty awesome that the price has come down on this technology. I’m hoping my kids will give me one of these for Christmas!! Btw-I followed your link and it’s $40 off.

Looks like a printer/scanner/fax machine. Really good explanation of how it works, I had been wondering how it vacuum sealed stuff without sucking stuff into the machine.

Thanks, great review. Do you know if it works with mylar?

I haven't tried them, but from what I've read they do work.
@rosezingleman500711 ай бұрын
That’s something I’d like to see if you can do it for us.

35 seconds is plenty of vacuum. Try 25 seconds for sausage and on jars, don't tighten the lid, just barely finger tight.

Can you adjust the sealing time?
@GreatLakesPrepping7 ай бұрын
Yes. You can use different presets, or set your own custom time.

@GreatLakesPrepping thanks! Have you been using yours often? How has it been holding up? Thanks!
@GreatLakesPrepping7 ай бұрын
@@bigeclipse718 Still working just fine. I use it semi-regularly. I find it most useful for sealing particularly wet things. For regular things, like some pieces of meat or something, the foodsaver is much quicker to set up, use, and put away.
