Your narration is a little erroneous. I have seen the video in which MD Ravi talks about this song. He said that he had recorded this song in Kishore's voice under Devendra Goel insistence. Ravi himself used to present his songs to the producer by singing them in his own voice. He had done the same with this song. After the recording in Kishore's voice the song was being picturized but Goel was not satisfied with the outcome. He came to Ravi and said, "is gaane mein woh baat nahi aa rahi hai jo aap ney sunaya tha". Ravi told him that it was composed with Rafi in mind and he is the only one who could bring the same emotions that Ravi had shown during his presentation. It was Ravi, not Devendra Goel, who pressed for re-recording in Rafi's voice.
