Bollywood is so selfish but Rafi sahib came back with great thumps. When he left us for heavenly abode, he was again at his peak. RDBurman once set always wanted to avoid Rafi sahib.Even in Teesri Manzil he wanted to rake in Kishore Kumar.But Shammi Kapoor insisted only for Rafi Sahib.This made RDB alot frustrated. In Shaan " Yamma Yamma" he knew the limitations of his protege and hence raked in Rsfi Sahib.Thinking he would not match with his pitch, his aim would be fullfilled, but the opposite happened. Hence RDB wanted to re- record the song.But unfortunately the time never came. God took care of that humble person and the song had to be released as it was as he knew very well no one could bring back the effects required.Regards

If that's true, then Teesri Manzil would not have been so special for me. Shammi Kapoor and Rafi just rocked together and were interchangeable...just magical and though I like KK, his voice would have been incongruous, unsuitable and 'out of kilter' on Shammi. Unfortunately Rafi sahab passed away in 1980. After that even his favorite singer Kishore Kumar could not save the sinking career of R D Burman . RD Burman was almost without work during the last one decade of his life from 1982 to 1942. This is what is called Destiny.

Rafi Sahab is the one & only. Ask Mukesh, Mannadey, Kishore Da, Hemant Kumar and other singers of hindi film industry. Mannadey in an interview unabashedly said what Rafisahab could do in play back singing no singer could do including Mannadey himself. Who remembers R D Burman, Salil Chauhan, etc? Rafi Sahab is remembered every tear on his birth and death anniversaries. Long live Rafi Sahab.

It is so sad that such insignificant people like R D Burman and his petty gang could harass and pain a supreme singer and good human being like Rafi Saheb. In India, many people cannot value talent, they are simply blinded by the oneness of their culture, religion and language and some other petty things. They never rise above these to see a gem for what it is. But a diamond still remains a diamond - Naturally one does not expect an iron smith to judge a precious stone like diamond. R D Burman and his gang were those iron smiths, who took a charcoal like Kishor Kumar as diamond and ignored the diamond of Mohd. Rafi. The R D Burman gang supported Kishor kumar because they were all Bengali. What goodness does one expect from the likes of petty musical thief like R D Burman. R D Burman was the Pritam of the olden era. It was good that two equally mean people RD Burman and Asha Bhosle married. Asha was anyway, a woman with loose morals, who had run at the age of 16 with Lata's manager. After her marriage turned sour,she had an affair with a very much married O P Nayyar , and later left him in a lurch after her career took a fly.

He was the only singer who could put any emotions in the lines given to him. A noble and a generous soul. A humble god loving man with a lion's heart.
