Swami Desikan was given some recognition by SRI Vidyaranya, The great Shankaracharya of Sringeri. Swami Desikan refused saying it will be difficult to travel to Sringeri as it would hinder his Karmanushtanams. Although Sringeri Sringeri practised Advaita Tatvam....seeing the greatness of Desikan Swami , Sri Shankaracharya decided to give award.

Me Tamilnadu settled Telugu smarthan. Since born at Chennai Triplicane named Parthasarathi. Sree Ramanujar born before 1000 years and Sree Vedanta Desikar born 250 years after Sree Ramanujar. Sree Ramanujar works in Tamil mostly and Sree Desikar works are in Sanskrit mostly. Sir can you give any special note on this and how temple authorities use both languages in thiruvaraadanam.

The greatness of Sri Desikar is explained very well , in brief. Thank you 🙏. Kindly please answer when was this Vadakalai- Thenkalai sampradayam started? Was that existing during Sri Ramanujar time or Vaishnavites bifurcated this way later? What exactly are the differences?

I have great interest in reading about the Vaishnava theology as it ingrains not only deep devotion but has a firm philosophical basis. These divisions were not there during the time of Sri Ramanujacharya and the great saint would have been highly distressed to see these differences emerge in the tradition which he strengthened immeasurably and for the sake of which he give his all like his intellectual capacity, physical efforts, humanistic approach etc. As I understand the main differences between these two divisions stem from the fact that how one gets Moksha, priority of scriptures Divya Prabandham/Vedas, position of Sri Maha Lakshmi in the scheme of the things and so on. These disputes over the years have gone so nasty that they sometimes fight in the courts of law to resolve their issues of concern. As an admirer of the great philosopher-saint Sri Ramanujacharya, I feel sad that these two sects fight over some petty issues and make a mockery of the lineage of that great soul. One can only wonder how Sri Ramanujacharya must be feeling seeing these fights and differences and would be thinking, I gave them everything including Sri Bhashya, way to perform pooja/rituals, way to propagate Vaishnavism and include people of all classes/creed, and so on, but still these people are not capable of simply following them devotedly but have created divisions in the tradition just to show their own intellectual superiority and understanding.
