I am relatively new electronics hobbyist, I've been watching your videos for a long time and I'm very impressed by your level of knowledge and the way you explain things. I'm going to attempt to build this 15x10 Led Matrix , using your videos. How is it you know so much about Electronics? Is it your profession, or just an interest of yours? Instead of using a physical screen connected to the Pi have you tried a remote software application to run on the run that you could then use to connect to a windows or mac machine? I've had remote software running before on pi one model so it should work find with the pi two. You could have the remote software open up upon boot so you're able to access it straight away providing the PI has a static ip to connect to all the time. Only an idea rather than having to use a phyical screen and such :) Awesome video tho!

Kikkawa Ryu Thats the way I ran my Pi for the longest time, because I was too lazy to work in the corner that my networking was done(it was kind of crowded too) So i just remotely accessed it from my laptop or desktop and I found a software for phones but it wasn't too functional

There is a question in your newer led matrix you are able to show images without a Computer. Am i right if i think you could also use this matrix without an raspberry pi and connect it directly to an computer which has the Gladiator software on it? If yes is there a way to get an Equalizer on it? Or maybe just some animations without a Computer like the new small one? It would be great if you are able to answer. Sorry my englisch is horrible.

@GreatScott! I really love this. I love all your videos. I wand to use this in a project that I am busy with, however, I want to use it in a more of an automated way. What I want to find out is do you have to start the animations from Glediator every time you start reboot the pi or will it start automatically on boot? also, do you have to use the Glediator application every time or is it possible to save the animation (like in a config file for instance) and recall it from python or the terminal on the RPi automatically based on certain conditions? You see, my led matrix will be unattended and based on certain conditions, I want it to display a Glediator animation or text automatically and I need to switch between these programatically. Does this sound possible? Keep up the great videos. Really love them. Thanks J

+Schmirgus Hi, I bought myself a cheap Arduino Nana from China. It uses a knock off FTDI chip but works a treat.

Why not run it all via a VNC server? Then just change it when you need too from your actual computer

I am not sure why the Raspberry Pi is needed. Can't I just download Glediator to my computer and upload the code to the arduino from there? thanks!

Yes you can, you will just need to manually ad the RXTX library to your java lib. Just google RXTX lib + your operating system and follow instructions.
