I agree with all of this. What I like best about greatsword on herald is I have real choice on swap for either RP or gameplay reasons. There are plenty of times I do not need staff 5, but I always carried staff because there was even less reason to do carry something else. If I/the group has all the cc it needs without my staff 5, I like having a real swap set to utilize. Greatsword is pretty awesome, but even if it wasn't I would appreciate the change so long as it was superior to staff or hammer for my intended purposes.

This was the first thing I tried in the beta! Makes me a little sad that my only ascended Armor is Celestial, as the Condition Damage and Expertise would be quite wasted with Greatsword :(

You beat my butt so many times lol. I only got a few on you after I changed to a trait that gave me resistance. Hammer is strong with immobilize. Good duels!

I recently jumped back into the game and I love greatsword on my herald. I'm currently experimenting with sword/ shield on my off bar and i have to say I don't hate it. I'll most likely go back and forth between shield and offhand sword, but I currently enjoy the extra defense the shield provides. Even though self roots are inherently suboptimal, it's a great way of making somebody waste their big damage while I'm cleansing conditions. What do you think about offhand shield?

I think offhand shield is sub optimal when you consider how revenant itself inherently is. Our weakness is condis, and our strength is damage/burst/mobility. The whole idea is that we should be pressuring with damage and killing our opponent before the condis become a problem. Disregard this info if you’re running a build like celestial, then I could see it working nicely :)

Hey! You can use the same gear if you’d like for OW. For PvE, full berserkers is meta.

First and foremost, is the floating sword on your back a cosmetic piece or a part of the class? It’s got me wanting to make a Rev 😅 secondly, how is Revenant for main story and leveling in general? Starting fresh after a long hiatus and it’s piqued my interest over everything else

YUS!!!!! We need some solid gameplay though, bro! A montages or raw gameplay would be dope. I'm currently in the process of learning Herald with GS and I've been struggling something fierce, I do far better as Vindicator, sadly, but all I want to play is Herald.. Seeing someone else play while banging out to some music or even providing commentary would be amazing. Do you coach or know anyone who coaches Rev? (I'm new to GW2).

I would say the best pick for you would be warrior. Warrior can use a sword and shield really effectively. It’s really fun with greatsword too, and meta. With that being said, you can run herald greatsword as your second character.

You need to do go through the beginning of the most recently released chapter Secrets of the Obscure to unlock the weapons mastery

​@@spudzie9117Just do it, anime is rushed, there is so much more to uncover, alright, sometimes a bit samey, you know battle manga first, but overall the core idea remains the same, and ultimate ending is beautiful. Also one question from my side, I still have to buy End of Dragons so I don't have access to Greatsword, any suggestions for builds or variations without it? Until I get the dlc soon :D Also I am personally torn between Revenant in general and virtuoso. Could you cast your expertise opinion ( I mostly solo, but virtuoso is only thing drawing me to Mesmer while revenant as a whole is amazing xD) ty ❤

@@vojinvmilojkovic7622 both Revenant and Mesmer are great classes who can fill every role without issue. Virtuoso is fun DPS, but I’m not really amazing at Mesmer when it comes to PvP. Revenant is simple for DPS, and very effective. If you don’t own end of dragons, shortbow performs very well on all revenant specs.

Vindict is a better choice for ur weapon set.. i think the best for herald is the short bow condition build.. but its just my tought.

Shortbow is good on herald, but not really for a condi build. I think celestial might be better overall. Also I think that great-sword works fine on both specs.

It’s a power build I made. Exact same stats/runes/traits. Shortbow is dragons with Sigils of air/celerity

I'm honestly shocked said greatsword herald is much better here since you did make that video on the Isgarren relic before, that rune is just PERFECT for Vind to the point where it doesn't make it obsolete now with greatsword herald being a thing, since it does let you get over 35% damage increase thanks to the dmg traits with the relic as well. Atm I only see greatsword herald being the safe and versatile option especially for group play to buff your group, sadly it seems like we won't get any buffs to Vind's support abilities though. :/

I really hated how GS and Vindicator worked together. It really is clunky. Feels like you got 5 skills always fighting each other for energy and a spot in rotation and it just stumbles. Herald and GS both play to the role of the "main" set. Great to stay on most of the time with another legend and weapon set being a situational tool for convenience or safety.

Yeah I've been rocking GS Herald since the Xpack drop. RIP Vindi, I feel bad for it. Weapon mastery really shows how Vindi's gotten into a bad spot in current game.

Yeah a lot of it has to do with the amount of nerfs its received. While specs like Herald/renegade have been slowly buffed throughout EoD. Vindi still has some juice though with celestial.

This class is a sex pest in wvw, you can't really get away with the teleports/mobility it has. Not sure how I feel, the relics on top of this has made some deadly classes 🙃

First of all, I main Revenant. Second, I love Herald. And I love greatsword. I understand that Herald is a completed perfectness right now. But there is something sad about. Vindicator has no meaning at all anymore! Not in PvE, not in PvP.... may be in zergs in WvW? I don't know. Herald does everything better right now compared to vindi , no reason to play with vindicator spec unless you love the dodge mechanic extremely. That's why I did not want weapon update. Just my opinion.

Yeah it can be weird at first. Generally you want regeneration to be on, as well as fury. I also like swiftness too.
