enjoyed +1.. but also.. if you staggered the frets from last fret to 17th it might stop that fret rattle 16:23 .. the truss rod does near nothing past the 17th fret, so staggering the frets to make the last fret the lowest (only a few microns) then second last second lowest etc I have found stops what I'll call 'fret rattle'.

Hi Andy. Nice job. I just purchased a mint LJ-600. It still has that sloppy stock bridge. What make and model bridge did you go with?
The care, attention to detail and love that goes into this Refurbishment is truly incredible. You are an absolute joy to watch! Thank you

Huge drop in volume in the neck pickup lad, great restoration all the same .. enjoyed vid.

Thanks for your comment. The neck pickup might have dropped a little. But that is not very important.

At a gig, in the mix with everything else balanced properly it would be too noticeable .. what I'm hearing there would disappear. Something ain't right there .. it would be important to me.
@JM-bg2ts4 жыл бұрын
no you probably are listening on a phone and you cant hear the bass frequencies to me there was very little volume drop.
I love the outcome and the work that goes into this, but, I'm confused by the neck repair. Looks like the spline goes right down to the truss rod, so really the crack is only reinforced on the sides of the spline not the whole thing. Would have made better sense to have it shallower, or even a smaller spline on either side.
03:00 I don't know why that seems so satisfying to do.

Beautiful job! Gives one pleasure to bring back or to improve a vintage guitar. The old Grecos pre serial numbers are a good buy today as many love the late 1970's models. Curious, did the pickup have a broken lead or did you add some windings? So easy to drop in new pickups today, but you bring back a lost art. Congratulations!

Thank you. Original pickup was broken but fixed. The original is important.

Not that it isn't beautiful (sort of an LP Special version of George Harrison's rosewood Tele) but with that lovely grain I wonder how it would have looked with a Cherry Red stain?
not everything needs to be done in a hurry. slow down. otherwise good work sir!

@@Andybassguitar I just don't like metal nuts. Too bright. All of your guitars look great. However, I'll tell you, I'm a much better player than you. Not debatable. Since, YOU brought it up.
@Andybassguitar3 жыл бұрын
Metal nuts are not to everyone's taste. Don't worry, I'm not a very good guitar player. I understand. I don't like to play the guitar in the first place. I can make sounds. This is a translation from the original Japanese, so it may be different from what I wanted to convey. I'm sorry if I offended you. I'm good at listening to sound, though. Everyone has their own taste in sound, so whether you like it or not, that's fine with me. It's just that your taste is different from mine. No problem at all. The reason I chose to use a metal nut is because I wanted to reduce the loss of sustain caused by the oil finish. The guitar has a short sustain to begin with, so I wanted to solve that problem. You won't be able to tell if you close your eyes except for the open strings. Maybe.
@Andybassguitar3 жыл бұрын
@ doovie101 I'm sorry, but what I meant to convey in my earlier comment was The sound of the guitar I like is different from the sound of the guitar you like. And... The guitar amp I'm using in this video is not a good one. The guitar amp I use in this video is not a good one. I didn't check the translation, and I said it badly. I'm sorry.
