Greece # 15 - Acheron, The River to the Underworld - Route over the river and inside the river
In this video we show you the river Acheron, which in ancient mythologies was considered a gateway to the underworld.
In it we performed an activity that apparently is typical of this site, something like "river hicking", and that is neither more nor less than walking trough the river. We made a small treck along the path that goes over its cliffs, reaching a point where we could get down to the river, after which we returned by the river.
The descent down the river is very fun with some easily walkable areas, another much deeper areas, where we had to swim and some in which there were strong currents that we have to resist. Also by the river there are multiple areas where filtered water comes directly from the surrounding mountains, cold and crystal clear. In short, a highly recommended activity.
This is the last video of our trip to Greece, we hope that you have enjoyed at least part of what we enjoyed in Greece while we recorded them, and that although we want to transmit and share the places we went through, it is not at all the same thing than being there. So get out there, travel!!!
