I don't think Zangief is gay. If you watch Trailer 3 for Street Fighter x Tekken, he keeps getting nervous and shy around Julia. When she grabs his arm, he spits out the beer he was drinking. Plus, he's really excited to challenge her to a fight at the end. I'd be fine with Zangief being gay, but I don't think he's meant to be.

Well in 'Giefs profile in one of the games it says he hates "pretty young women", and I think thats why he was spitting out his beer. He sees young pretty women as a distraction, and doesn't like anything that appears weak. Which is why he started to find her attractive and wanting to fight her at the end of that trailer. Now does that make 'Gief gay? No not really it means he loves competition more then anything. But if he was who cares, to me its just more of that characters background and I will never stop liking him cause guy is too fucking cool as a Russian that wrestles bears. Though to wrestle a bear and kiss a dude right after is some kinda super fucking weird meta version of manly! X3
