Ares also has some other redeeming qualities: - he promotes good treatment of prisoners of war, - got aquitted after killing his MORTAL daughter's rapist (a DIVINE son of Poseidon). This incident sparked the first ever trial on mount olympus. He spoke so passionately about woman's rights to their own body that he was aquitted by all the male gods, who were all rapists themselves, even Poseidon. - was the patron god of amazon warriors - was a good father to all his children in general, not just the divine ones - was a minor god agriculture. One habit of his was going to help his mortal lovers give birth, on one such memorble occasion his lover died. He used his power to make her corpse continue lactating and fed his child with it himself until he could find a better substitute. Overall, we barely know any positive myths of him becaus Athenians were heaviely skewed against him due to Athena being their patron goddess, and almost all records are athenian. It's also important to note that it was probably mostly simple footsoldiers who prayed to him for winning war and/or farmers for keeping war away, people from a lower social class who did not have the means the build huge temples or preserve their worship in writing. Compare this to Athena being the goddess of staryegy and generals, which suits a much higher, more powerful and better off class.

Also, I know it is an editing mishap but Persephone kidnapping Hades to have company in Spring is so hilarious. Guess the Underworld will have to manage itself! Hahaha

@@incorrectgreekgods2126 Oh no I didn’t mean to imply you did a bad job. I mean I said these were great. And I will admit I was either unaware or had forgotten that part of Hermes origin. I was alluding to Zeus’ and Hera’s (mainly Zeus) distaste for Ares because of the violence of his domain. Though most of the stories off the top of my head don’t actually show Ares doing anything violent, his dad always seems fo prefer the more refined Athena. I thought the violence of a child might have made a good analog for a young Ares, but seeing as you had based what you did off of an actual myth I have no disagreements with what you did.
