Agree, how on earth can we understand if things are written in Greek? Seems basic to understand that an English speaker who is a beginner will require phonetic translation. Not good.

Dear Elaine, thank you for your comment! The Greek language has its own alphabet and I hope we can't change that. If you are serious with greek, it wouldn't be a big deal to learn it . If not , just listen what i say and use the subtitles! Σ'ευχαριστώ πάρα πολύ!

​​@@Elaine-tk7nx replay the parts that are hard to understand. This may sound weird, but watch the way she moves her mouth first when she says the phrase. Then try to mimic that yourself. It's much easier than guessing how to sound it out with the subtitles.

If you’re an English speaker you are speaking Greek every day, misogyny, misandry, misanthrope, hatred or dislike of women, men, mankind. Anything that has Graffi in the word means to write, graffiti, graphic artists, photography, phoda means light, so photography means light-writing, which what it was back in the day of film when an image was burnt on to a plate or a film. Hippopotamus, hippo in Ancient Greek was a horse, potomas means river, so it’s a river horse. If you’ve ever been on a farm/ building site or in a disaster zone and you’re not sure about the quality of the water, potable water is the clean water, potable - potamas = river. In many countries a library is referred to as a biblioteque. The B in the English language is pronounced as V in Greek, so biblioteque becomes vivliotech, because vivlio in Greek means book, so Biblioteque means Book Room, the latter is Ancient Greek I believe, Bible, the book, bibliography book-writing. Alphabet comes from the first two letters of the Greek alphabet Alpha-Beta (Veta, don’t forget B=V ) Hence the name Basil or the Herb is Vassilikos Anything with Filè in it means friend, Francophile, Anglophile, friend of the French or Friend of the English, more alarmingly, the English have made the words pedophile and necrophile as friend of the children and friend of the dead! Phobia, (fovia,) xenos (foreigner) xenophobia = fear of foreigners. Arachna in biology is spider, (arachni In Greek) arachnophobia = fear of spiders. English speakers use the term Mega for big or large, MEGA-LOS in Greek means big., small, mikron hence micro. A Delta winged plane such as Concorde is named such because if you viewed the plane from above, the wing would resemble the Greek letter D which is the form of a triangle. Medical terminology is full of Greek derived words, tricolologist, triches in Greek is hair, podiatrist, gynaecologist, pharynx, a lot of these words are from Ancient Greek not modern w I could go on and on but there are at least forty thousand Greek or derived from Greek words in the English language, and you need to do the research. If you speak Greek and Latin you could probably travel all over Europe and get by Most English speakers are lazy, and somewhat entitled, English is spoken all over the globe, whether I’m in Europe, Asia or South America I’ve always found someone who speaks a little English. No good criticising the video, she’s not going to spoon feed you, you need to make an effort. Learn 24 letters of the Greek alphabet and that will help you loads, how hard can that be? Spend less time watching TV or in the pub and spend half an hour educating yourself, there has never been an easier time to learn a language, I listen to You Tube whilst I drive instead of listening to inane music I’ve heard hundreds of times before If you have Alexa ask it, Alexa, how do you say dog in Greek ( Skilos). Alexa will give you the answer to words or sentences, as will Google translate, I have an online teacher in Greece it costs me two thirds of the price of a packet of cigarettes per hour If you think you’re going to go to downtown Athens and ask for two points of lager and a packet if crisps after watching a twenty minute video, think again, but then again most Athenians speak English.

Writing in English because I had an early flight slept very little. I am unfaithful 😅 Today I arrived in magnificent Dubrovnik, in the country of my nation Croatia.
