Throughout the 30 years I have been playing music, I have learned the craft of (coincidentally) 30 instruments🎶
22 - Laouto (Steriano/Nisiotiko). The laouto of the mainland and islands is the accompaniment instrument of Greece. It is tuned AGDC (high to low) and is double stringed and fretted, traditionally, with fishing line. Styles and variations of tuning vary from region to region but the traditional “zygia” was not complete without the laouto. This instrument was made by master luthier Giannis Paximadakis.

The Tuning is the same as a Mandocello (CGDA) But the C String is an Octave higher than Normally so it sounds great for playing Chords when in a Jam session because the lack of a super low C course gives it more clarity.
