Mandolin family instruments are called by different names in different countries. The nice sounding (and nicely played) instrument in the video is what I would call an octave mandolin, which is tuned an octave lower than a regular mandolin. In some places in Europe, it would be called a tenor mandola. A "mandola" (as it's called in the caption) would be pitched higher, and tuned CGDA.
