It is loud.

I hear all lever action bows are louder than average. Must be something to do with the way they work.
@jacksonterrance8833 Жыл бұрын
@alexcrowder1673 well ya got to think its the snap of metal on metal instead of a smooth bearing. Not including string slap. I wonder if you put a piece of cork and or rubber where it makes contact if you would loose. FPS. Maybe cork rubber wrapped in flourocarbon line would make it decently quite with out loosing too much energy.

@@jacksonterrance8833 I feel like the speed is already not all that much higher than recurve bows. Id hate to lose much more speed just to try to fix a flaw like being loud. I want to like these bows, but to me they seem unpopular for a reason. The only reason they seemed to get popular(ish) was because of the green arrow tv show. I also don't really see what advantage a lever action bow has over a compound bow in general. If i had the money id get APA bows all day long. They have every convenient feature you can imagine and power and speed for days. I hear the sanlida dragon x8 is awesome for a cheap amazon bow though. Not a crazy fast bow, only 310 IBO, but thats faster than almost any lever action bow except the old oneida stealth. The sanlida is also highly adjustable and doesn't even need a bow press. Swapping the string in the field is actually very similar to what you see on the much more expensive Hoyt or APA bows, but its a $200 amazon bow. Some youtubers have done reviews on them actually. Anyways, my point is that even a crappy lever action bow is like $310 bare minumum, direct from asia, last I checked. That particular model also only had a IBO of 180 which is basically just like a recurve anyways.

@alexcrowder1673 wow a lifetime warranty made out of magnesium. Glad you mentioned this bow very impressive. I honestly prefer horse bows. Mongolion or tarter. Af archery id like to get. The lever action bows are the closest thjng to traditional modernized archery in my opinion. Being able to reload and shoot fast is a must for me. Im sporting a braided spring steel turkish i shaped myself. Very miniature. Still fast and accurate though. Probably 20lb draw. Goes all the way through a foam couch seat. I make pretty good strings though. Polycotton with a very thin brass wire for the core. 3 strands polyester 3 strands murcurized cotton and 1 bronze wire from a 3 twist roll. 7 strands and can handle 50 lbs easy no stretch. Like a guitar string. In tune.

Oneida knock off?
@alexcrowder1673 Жыл бұрын
Yes and no. Lot's of companies make lever action bows these days. Especially for fishing. Oneida were definitely pioneers of lever action bows though. Also this one is quite slow. I'm very glad I watched this video before purchasing this.

@@butchcassidy178 Most lever action bows are somewhere in between a compound bow and a recurve bow. Many lever action bows are 60-70% let off as opposed to 80% let off. This particular model can be adjusted from 55%, 65%, and 80% let off though. Hope that helps!
