couple pro tip here folks, thank me later: (1) in the same way people make potato pie, you can boil green fig and some dasheen instead mash up put in a pyrex bowl cover with grate cheese and bake... (2) if thinking about making potato salad or as we locals call "mayo"/"mayonnaise", either replace the potato with boil green fig or incorporate a good portion of boil green fig into the mix...
@ellisfoodandmore60083 жыл бұрын
Yes thank you. I actually do have similar recipes carded for other episodes.
@Trini_Hybrid3 жыл бұрын
@@ellisfoodandmore6008 i got to thinking about it a bit more after my first comment, and we Trinis are soo lucky for the wide variety of fig we have and numerous ways we can cook them- it really is an amazing and versatile super-food: there is green fig like in your video and how I mention above and also commonly used in soup and boil & fry provision, there is green or ripe plantain and mocco for frying and one of dem my mom use to incorporate in flour and make a banana pastry sort of desert, i also remember her cooking chiquito fig a few times even tho i use to gobble dem up plain ripe jus so 😁...
@Trini_Hybrid3 жыл бұрын
wows!!! soo beautiful and you have a sweet bubbly personality to boot🤗dat is one lucky guy hope he appreciates you... dis jacket button with fry bake meal take me back to my childhood, and nice use of saltfish too just like my mom used to do...dat alone proves you are an awesome cook😁; and I see you put a whole pepper too in the end (by us we had bottles upon bottles of homemade lime pepper sauce tho); but it really does enhance the flavor at least by about 6 times better than without it same as adding couple slices of zaboca...thank me later but one day you have to do again- everything the same but use eddoes instead of the green fig: i remember at least two versions of it (1) without curry and (2) with curry but also had pigeon peas added to the eddoes...
