Found some BIG walleyes at Chambers Island!

3rd time I've watched this report over that many years. And once again thanks, went there and caught my first ever PB. 30", fished walleye for 26 years and never caught one over 26-1/2. I used a crawler harness and it was labor day weekend. Thumbs up to you both

No luck, we didn't even manage to mark fish in the 6-60' range the 2 days we were there. Hit the north and west side of chambers, fished around little strawberry island area, and spent some time in the sister bay area. We trolled and threw a combination of lures. Only fish to be seen were the salmon in a foot or two of water in the bays of the peninsula. Very impressive looking area and am already thinking about fishing that area late may next year.

What boat did you use and what motor did you use to get out there? Was it a tiller motor?

yes, 60hp tiller, 17' Triumph boat. Iriumph is no longer in bussiness. Their boats are made from ropelene (plastic). Their motto was "the worlds toughest boat", I would agree!

What speed did you troll at with those crankbaits? Also why not crawler harness?

Speed was around 2 to 2.5 mph. I did try harness earlier, but switched to cranks for a couple of reasons: first time fishing this area and wanted to cover the area faster and the bigger fish are commonly more often caught on cranks.

Rapala tail dancers that day. But any comparable crank will work. We were there last week and caught them on reef runners.
