Not the extra blocker as much as getting the box in his favor. With him lined up on that side the weak side of the box was mismatched in the offenses favor. Zone running teams can be a nightmare to line up against because of this. Constant motions and heavy alignments can break a big one off of any gap errors by the defense.

I haven't been into football for years, it's hard to watch someone like rodgers with so much skill and talent with little motivation or emotion or team support, just felt dysfunctional and he took very little risk in his later years, seemed more concerned with personal stats than trying to win games. I agree with you. They escaped with a win. That FG miss was huge or else this game would have gone to O.T. But your 49ers made the plays late in the game when it mattered. But will have to play way better next week if they want to play in the Super Bowl.
