@@brendenlee9043 I don't know how much you know about socialism, but it's not just when there's a dictatorship. What Marx actually wrote about was how the capitalist mode of production (Marx was one of the first to ever use this term) allowed the consolidation of wealth and power in the hands of a few and that the way to fix this is for the workers to take control of the means of production (the workplaces) - that's what socialism is. The idea is that when the workers own their workplace, there will no longer be a profit motive and instead people will collectively make better decisions for society, and also that it's just wrong for a third party (the boss/capitalist) to take wealth the worker created in the form of profit in the first place.

Just a reminder that FOX News is the most watched news channel in the US and the president of the United States regularly invited himself onto it. Trump also frequently granted preferential treatment to Breitbart and OAN, both of which are conspiracy outlets and non-factual news channels. Also, the lyrics here are false. It's "One nation under a new mania"
@commanderbeepo80663 жыл бұрын
@@peffiSC2source as a conservative, I detest fox news just as much as the rest of MSM. all MSM lie and manipulate information to push agendas and I find this unacceptable. The legacy media should be dismantled
@peffiSC2source3 жыл бұрын
@@commanderbeepo8066 Again, Breitbart and OAN are not better though and they are, at least I assume by your definition, not mainstream media. There is a problem with media in the US, but I don't think it stems from the fact that there are "mainstream media". Germany and the UK have state-run channels that have highly respectable and factual reporting. Of course nothing is without bias, but the BBC or ZDF are bound by laws to have good factual reporting and are funded by the people to provide that service. Instead in the US it's mostly that the American interpretation of free speech clashes with factual reporting, because yellow press and sensationalism will always be more lucrative than boring but factual reporting. Benjamin Franklin said "... when truth and error have fair play, the former is always an overmatch for the latter." Turns out he was wrong. The US either needs some strong laws regarding non-factual reporting, which would clash with most Americans interpretation of free speech, I think. Or they need to promote a state-run channel which is extremely regulated to produce only factual news, financially secure regardless of what party is in power and beholden to the people in some sort of independent body. That channel would try to address the various non-factual reporting from either side. This would, compared tot he other idea, be quite difficult to implement, especially since US culture is so fractured and divided, it would just become another partisan battleground.

Funny you say that. I thought the same way about myself not too long ago. Turns out it's human nature to change constantly but most people just try to force change so hard to the point where it backfires. The trick is to learn from mistakes and feedback and adjust in small ways rather than to create a new personality all together and act it out. By all means do what you think is right. If you think my advice was inadequate you don't have to follow it but don't hold yourself back with the idea that you are unable to change and grow. This song makes much more sense in 2016 then it does in 2004. That's crazy.

I dunno, I think it fits just the same. You've gotta remember that 2004 was just three years after the September 11th attacks; hysteria was still a pretty big thing then. If you think people still obsess over it now, think of how it was when the album came out.
