My first thought after hearing the Iron Man segment alone was "I need to hear a whole Green Day heavy metal album now, if Sum 41 can transition from pop punk to heavy metal and melo-hardcore, so can Green Day". Plus one of Green Day's demos from like 1989 was basically thrash metal, wish I could find it again.

Didn't care much for Alternative Rock and Roll, but Green Day is one of the few bands in the late 90's that stayed true to the roots. Maybe if there had been more new bands like Green Day back then, Rock and Roll would still be kicking today.
