Green Day - Platypus [I Hate You] (Insomniac Version)

I always thought this song would fit right in Insomniac. Right after 86. Man, this song is an arm workout. This took many takes cause my arms were getting tired. Especially on the bass haha. I used drums from Jaded (it was just so perfect), Don't Wanna Fall in Love and Panic Song. This was a fun one to make. I'm a little impressed with myself on this one. I promise the next one after this won't be an Insomniac "outtake". Hope all the Insomniac mixes aren't boring ya'. It's my favorite Green Day album after all. Haha. Like always, the homie St. Jimmy's Stuff mixed this and did the AI Insomniac vocals. Hope you all enjoy.

I've always felt like this song should have been on Insomniac as I think it references the same person who is the founder of 924 Gilman which 86 and a lot of Insomniac is about!

​@@silktongs There can never be too many Insomniac mixes lol (cuz it's my favourite GD album), btw, can you do some Father Of All? Imo, it has good songwriting, it's just the execution that makes the songs suffer. I would like to hear what "Oh Yeah" if it was faster because it actually has a great melody going for it and I think if it had more guitar (like palm muting in the verse) it would be better, other than the chorus which is sampled, maybe an Warning, 21STCBD, Insomniac, or American Idiot mix might work, also Graffitia (Warning Mix) might be cool!

I feel like this song was originally written for insomniac tbh, the meaning behind this song fits the overall theme of insomniac which was Green Day being pissed off at all the people that called them sellouts due to their newfound success and turned their backs on them after they signed to the major record label Reprise Records. If I’m not wrong, I believe this song is about a reporter that used to love the band up to Kerplunk and started to trash them when Dookie came out.
