21st Century Breakdown - Green Day
1st place. Love this song, it's a real bop. I kinda like that the game ends on this song even though it's the first song on the album (Song of the Century doesn't really count imo, that's just an intro track). This is the last song on the main game, but there's 6 DLC songs that complete the 21st Century Breakdown album that I'll be uploading now to round out this game.
I always love going back and playing through this game. When I bought this game in June of 2010, I knew pretty much nothing about Green Day. I played the 2-song demo that was released that had Welcome to Paradise and Boulevard of Broken Dreams on it, and I liked both of those songs, but I still didn't have high hopes going into the game at the time because I thought Green Day was an "emo" band and it was cool to dislike "emo" bands back then. I was a dumb 12 year old. I ended up really loving all of the Dookie songs at the start of the game, and enjoying a fair amount of the American Idiot songs and the various songs from the albums in between. I wasn't into most of 21st Century Breakdown though. Now that I'm an adult and have had a lot of time to digest these songs, this album ain't half bad. Dookie is one of my favorite albums of all time, and American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown are both awesome concept albums.
Admittedly, I haven't really kept up too much with Green Day's releases after 21st Century Breakdown, but we should be really thankful this game came out when it did so we didn't get a game full of ¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré! lol. I haven't heard really anything positive about that trilogy. Fantano gave their newest album a straight up 0, which is bonkers. The marketing material was so out of touch and cringy it made me check out a few of their songs, which I guess means it was good marketing, but wow I got some bad vibes. To me it seems like they've lost their touch and they're just clinging onto the old days, but now they're almost 50 years old and the music landscape has changed dramatically so it just... doesn't work all that well. Idk, just my opinion, and I really haven't listened to their newer material much at all so I could be way off base.
Anyway, the 6 DLC songs are up next, then a couple filler videos, then Band Hero.

21st Century Breakdown Story: Talk about the childhood of Billie Joe Armstrong, who lived his childhood during Richard Nixon's corrupt presidency. After losing his father when he was barely 10 years old, the boy was practically raised by his older brothers while his mother had to work as a waitress at night. This gave the singer a greater awareness of the working class, with which he claims not to identify. "My generation is zero", he sings, accusing his contemporaries of not acting to change this reality.

Playing 21CB’s title song a good hour after See the Light feels a lot like coming full circle. And now, onto the DLC!

This is a great song to finish the game on (well, either this, American Euology, or See the Light). It's definitely gotta be that fast part after the second chorus!

It's a really funny coincidence that this song mentions the class of '13, which I'm a part of (graduated hs that year). Anyway this is a great song really love that ending

And here we are. The ending of the game. Well, not really, lol, just 6 more songs and we'll be finally done with this game haha. Such a great song, just like you said, kinda nice this is the last song from the game.

I was so happy when I Full Combo'd this song because it was the last song that I had to do before I Full Game Full Combo'd Green Day Rock Band (the base version on guitar.) It was my first FGFC. After that, I FGFC'd Band Hero (guitar,) The Beatles Rock Band (guitar,) and Guitar Hero Van Halen (bass.) It's kind of strange though that the game ends on what is [technically] meant to be the first song on 21st Century Breakdown. Also, Billie playing this song with Blue was like ending the journey the same way it began.

Father of All...may not be that great, but I wholeheartedly recommend checking out Revolution Radio. It's basically a blend of all the best parts of their previous albums: The fast-paced punchiness of Dookie and Insomniac, the variety of styles from Nimrod and Warning, and a little bit of dramatic flare from AI and 21CB (although it's not a concept album).

Been watching ya for awhile now, it's fun to watch the gameplay, also good job :) The trilogy album isnt all that bad. But I think uno takes the cake honestly as the best one. RR is pretty nostalgic. And father of all... it's actually not that bad. Some songs are catchy, some songs you dont expect. But its definitely shorter than their other works. But I'm the type of person to give things a chance and hear them out. I reccomend you should too, if you feel like it.

This is definitely a top 3 song on the album, it's on par with jesus of suburbia for me. One of the best charts in the game for me as well, the second section of this song is so fun to play. Loved reading your experience with GDRB too, this game definitely made me appreciate this album more than it would if I just went through it on spotify or something. People say they haven't been good since American idiot but they're doing this album super dirty when they say that. Everything after 21st Century tho, jesus christ. I haven't heard much of the trilogy but from what I have heard (Nightlife anyone?) it really doesn't seem worth going through. I don't really come back to RevRad much and Father of All is something else. It's kinda funny how bad it is in places but it's just sad to see what this once great band has become

Just a question, since you didn't specifically mention it- do you like anything off of the Revolution Radio album? It's one of my favorites behind American Idiot, Dookie, and 21st Century.

you can’t have a song that’s about roughly 36,500 days/876,000 hours/52,560,000 minutes/3.1536e9 seconds/1 century just in 5 minutes/300 seconds you cannot see the light Well I - I just want to see the light And I - I don't want to lose my sight Well I - I just want to see the light And I need to know what's worth the fight your brain cannot process the big numbers in such short time, you’re brain stewed
