Thank you for this! You nailed it, The offspring was my go to when I started out skateboarding back in 1997. They just amped me on another level to push and perform. This show was the biggest on my bucket list for sure!!

That’s so awesome! The Offspring’s music just has that raw energy that hypes you up no matter what. I honestly never thought they’d come to SA, especially since the last time they were here was 20 years ago but they did, and we were so here for it! Such an unreal experience!

One of the best shows I have ever been too. I felt the sound got better and better as the night went on. Felt the mic was set to low for The offspring and especially Polisiekar. They fixed it for Green day at least. We sat in block 215 red section b stand. Amazing energy and well run event. R60 a pop for a beer nearly gave me a heart attack haha
@MeleaJade6 күн бұрын
@@danieljoubert7937 lol yeah everything was more expensive it’s insane but we still buy for convenience sake which encourages them to continue charging so much which sucks we can’t win lol Oh and I totally agree with you we noticed that the sound of the mics were a-bit weird at times but I’m sure where you were you could hear it more clearly, at one point in Green days performance his mic went off for a bit. Technicalities. However it was a great show and this doesn’t happen very often! Amazing to hear how so many people felt the same way we did!

I was there with my son, in the stands. Best show ever! I'm 57 and was vaguely aware of Green Day earlier in my life, but was introduced to them - and Offspring - by my son (now 16). We are huge fans! What an experience! 🎉

That’s so awesome! Sharing such an epic experience with your son must have been incredible. it’s moments like these that create lifelong memories. 🖤 The energy at the show was unmatched, right? Green Day and Offspring truly brought their A-game! It’s so cool that your son introduced you to their music-it just goes to show how music can connect generations. 🎸🤘

Most definitely, I love that, that is a great way to describe it "soundtrack to my teenage years" you and I both 🙌. Now we gotta wait for the next one. Im waiting on Blink 182 and a few others but ey time can only tell. It was indeed a Great Experience.

@@MeleaJade Lmao, I’m also waiting on Blink-182 🤣. I’d probably cry if they toured here-wait, let me rephrase that-WHEN they tour here! I’ve been lucky enough to see The Used and 30 Seconds to Mars live, and those were incredible experiences too.

@@highburyhills OMG im emotional just thinking about it haha I love the positivity. I will see you at the concert. Oh thats awesome, i haven't seen The used yet but i bought the album i think in 2007, but i use to go to My coke fest that had amazing international bands play in big 12 hour concerts. Watched 30 seconds to mars, Korn, Good Charlotte, Evanescence, 3 doors down, Muse and many more it was huge in the early 2000s. It was a VIBE!!!!

@@MeleaJade When Blink got together again and released their new album, I was overjoyed and played it on repeat for weeks! The Used came in 2008 and performed at Grandwest. The front tickets was extremely cheap. Like R250, so i was like right infront. I could almost touch Bert lmao. Oh damn, you saw Korn and Good Charlotte. 🥲LUCKY! I think I was too poor at the time to attend the Coke Fest 😅
@MeleaJade10 күн бұрын
@@highburyhills Lol, yeah, everything was cheaper back then, but it still felt expensive when you’d just finished school! Coke Fest was only like R400 to see all those bands, which is wild to think about now. Good times though!

Hi Melea, love this ! What was the merch like? I wanna get a band T if they have.. am seeing them in Dubai on Friday !
@MeleaJade10 күн бұрын
Wow, that’s so exciting! You’re going to have such an amazing time. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any merch because the lines were really long, so I’d recommend getting there early. From what I saw, though, the merch looked pretty decent, and I felt the pricing wasn’t too bad either. They had a flyer up with the merch and prices, but I’m not sure how much it’ll differ in Dubai. Everyone who got merch wore it proudly, so it’s definitely worth checking out!

I'm glad you mentioned they were pop punk. Pop by definition is current. Sex pistols, The exploited, Twisted Sister and even Pink Floyd to a degree. Those are some of the pioneers that created bands like offspring and green day. In my opinion.
