Hi everyone! I am starting this channel to encourage happiness + wellness through food + lifestyle. I am still learning how to make videos! hoping to get better but for now I have this cool old camera and basic editing skillz.
This recipe is for a delicious green juice, made without using a juicer. Sometimes I actually prefer this method as opposed to the juicer, I find that it creates less waste, and provides a simpler clean-up. The juicer I have personally is complicated to clean, and a lot of the fruit and veg gets discarded. What you get here is 2+ quarts of green juice, and you can use this method with any juice recipe!
I used:
3 cucumbers - roughly peeled and cut
6 skinny stalks of celery - I use the inner pieces & leaves, the parts that don't get eaten with peanut butter
2 cups spinach
2 peeled oranges
2 squeezed limes
1 knob of ginger

chop + peel + prep all ingredients.
blend together, add water if needed
strain with a fine mesh strainer, and separate the foam from the juice.
blend the foam with water to make extra juice! strain through again.
pour into jars or bottles & refrigerate. juice should last about 4 days.
lets talk about the health bennies. First off - cucumbers. Hydrating and nutrient dense, cucumbers are 96% water and contain vitamin A, K, C, potassium, & even a lil calcium; they are also rich in antioxidants. Cucumbers also contain fiber! Spinach - rich in iron, vitamins C & E, potassium + magnesium, fabulous for the immune + digestive systems. Ginger is quite the powerhouse as well - also aiding in digestion, the cardiovascular system, & working as an anti-inflammatory. Celery helps reduce blood pressure! Celery has a plant compound called phthalide, a phytochemical that relaxes your artery walls to help blood flow, and in turn lowering blood pressure. Our citrus fruits (oranges + lime) contain fiber, vitamin C, and potassium. All these benefits at our disposal!!! A quick google search can get you all of this info and more.
