Yes, you can! Just soak it outside (it will smell) and strain it before watering. I will also add the leftover herb from my tea to my plants.

Hello Elaine. I moved to Quebec City from USA. My health was so poor but since moving to Canada, I have seen great improvement with higher energy levels. I'm looking for more on herbal remedies and found horsetail in my yard. Another video said that it was a nightmare to have but your video tells different. What should I do about the HT growing in my yard? Can I be sure it's horsetail and safe for teas? Thanks so much. Love your vid.

Hi Larvey, Yes, horsetail can go kind of wild in the garden and some people think of it as a weed. I personally love it! Horsetial will pick up mining and agricultural wastes (such as pesticides and herbicides), so you really need to be careful where you gather it! I would make sure that your yard has not been sprayed in the last few years. As with any herb, be sure to make sure you have identified it correctly before gathering and using! Wikipedia has a pretty good description: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equisetum Hope that helps and glad you are feeling better! Warmly, Elaine

Great info.. Any idea on how I can revive my horsetail? It's dying and I'm at a loss on how to fix it. :-(

Hi Elliott, Horsetail likes lots of water. I have mine in a pot with no drain. If it is getting plenty of water, I wonder how old it is? Sometimes plants just get old and die. Another thought would be to transplant it with new soil so it has access to new nutrients. You might try this especially if it has been in the same pot for a long time. Best, Elaine
