Thank you for showing those good techniques. It is certainly less messy and toxic than traditional methods. Cheers.

An excellent video, packed with all the necessary information. What a pleasure to find a green way of approaching the toxic printmaking procceses.

I would like to see a demonstration of how you made the actual prints, this was very informative.

Hi, ihave already made a video of the electrolytic etching procedure which you should be able to find by typing the words Green prints

Hello Cedric, thanks for sharing your technique! I tried a variation of it, using a cupper plate, sugar lift, litho-ink and etching it in ferrochloride (40 baume). It still didn't work. Is it necessary to bake the plate before putting it in water or can it simply dry over night? Kind regards from Germany. Iris

will this kind of aquatint work with a copper plate and ferric chloride?

i dont understand this technic. Sugar lifting produces only a positiv picture. If you draw direct the image in negativ, then you have the same effekt without needs to lift

The examples given are proofed in intaglio, that is, the black painted areas after the colored ink ground is properly applied, and sugar dissolved, and the plate is etched (preferably electrolytically)., will print in positive (dark). The advantage over traditional aquatint is is that it is a single process - and it is non toxic

This is absolutely useless without an exact recipe of the sugar lift you are using. Your description is vague.
@cedricgreen146 жыл бұрын
The recipe mentioned briefly in the video is a concentrated sugar solution with black ink and a few drops of liquid detergent added. A concentrated solution is made by adding finely ground sugar ( icing or castor sugar ) gradually to hot distilled or demineralised water, until no more will dissolve. The water based ink will dilute the mixture slightly. More sugar can be added.
