We have an indoor clean out just above concrete floor. When they start jetting the pipe at our house is there going to be a ton of sludge and water backing up into the basement once they start jetting if the clog doesn’t move quickly? The clog is about 65’ from the clean out.

What ended up happening?
@stephenburdess2914 Жыл бұрын
@@ChadAmI80 long story, so they did end up jetting, (they didn’t bring a shop vac) so I ended up using my little 2-3 gallon vac. We just happened to have a large trash can that I would empty out every thirty seconds, we filled up the trash can with sludge, he got the jetter hose stuck. He came back a few days later with a large vacuum truck so they could jet longer without it backing up, still didn’t help. They charged 650.00 for the jetting 400.00 for the vacuum truck and just said we will get the hose out when we come back to do the plumbing. I hired a different company and they ended up breaking the jet hose it’s been a nightmare.

@simonsimon5572 жыл бұрын
Ask your neighbours/family if it is a fair rate. Do you have a tradesman review site you could access to see what other people think of their pricing? Remember the plumbers have their overheads to consider when pricing the job. That said, it will still probably be cheaper than digging it all up and replacing the pipes.

If I had to make an educated guess I would say the Jetter unit is most likely a tow behind that hose is 3/8 diameter with a warthog Jetter nozzle those units can operate anywhere from 3000 to 4500 psi at anywhere from 7 1/2 to 10 gallons a minute. When utilizing large nozzles like that it's all about water volume over water pressure. There are different size hoses and nozzles and configurations for specific jobs.

Can the hydro jet break down hard rust build up?
@killroywashere12544 жыл бұрын
I Ran a hydro Jet for years. They have different nozzles for roots and plugged lines. I designed a nozzle that will not hang up on a misaligned pipe, or broken pipe or a root filled pipe. For rust build up they have a nozzle that will clear the pipe of all hard rust build up.

@@justinlee5958 how effective is jetting overall?
@flyhigh420jp Жыл бұрын
In this situation hydro jetting is a waste of time and money, you can clearly see that the pipe has severely shifted and will soon collapse. I’m not sure if you only had a root intrusion or similar issues like this video here. Hydro Jetting is meant to remove and flush out any build up or debris. Here, there using a unique jetting head that attaches to the end of the hose, it rotates at a very high velocity due to the pressure from the water and cuts roots. This will only buy you time, but it will not fix anything. Not a smart idea given they have a camera that showed them the shifted sewer line…this is no belly, this is a section of pipe that has shifted and needs to be repaired! Also, as far as going trench-less, like a liner would be a terrible mistake 🤦♂️ please beware of these so called plumbers, the real and only solution is to repair or replace it 🙏
